🗓We are a month into the New Year! How’s everyone’s New Years Resolutions going?

☔️If you slightly cringed at that question because you already broke them… well so did I! And 92% of the world! So don’t beat yourself up for it!

💭Let me rephrase this fact: You spend 1 out of every 2 minutes doing something that you’re not even aware of. (HABITS)

🧐But why?

🧠This short answer: your brain is SO efficient & smart. Basically, it’s saving you energy!

💪How to restructure your habits & automatic behaviours? BELIEVE.
You better “believe” that habits are in fact a spiritual thing. If you BELIEVE you can, you will.

📚Studies have shown that while no particular religion helped AA (alcohol anonymous) individuals reach sobriety faster, having any sort of faith at all made a huge difference over atheists and agnostics.

✔️ Take Vitamin D

✔️ Stay connected (with friends, family, etc.)
✔️ Don’t be afraid to seek help when needed
✔️ Keep a gratitude journal
✔️ Meditate
✔️ Exercise
✔️ Do the things you love!
✔️ Most importantly… PRAY.

🏆CHALLENGES WITH FLOW🏆

💬Yesterday we spoke about not being afraid to ask for help when you need it! Or just simply reaching out to someone that you love & trust!

👫So let’s put this into action! This week I challenge you to TALK TO SOMEONE! Hang out with a good friend, take a day off to see your mom, book an appointment with a counsellor, or simply pray before you go to bed tonight!

🌍No one should feel that they HAVE to carry the world on their shoulders. That’s not your job!

🗣Your so-called “weaknesses” are not weaknesses at all. Everyone struggles, remember that you are not alone. You should never feel that you cannot ask for help. Remember your strength.
📖“Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.” (James‬ ‭5:16‬)

👫We were made to live in community. We are not meant to live life alone. Two is better than one. We are stronger in numbers. Confide in a trusted friend, a counsel or, or the Heavenly Father.

☁️Give it to God. All of it. Try your best, push through & leave the rest in God’s hands. Pray. Meditate. Listen. Love. For the stresses of this world are not normal, they are not meant for humans to carry alone.

🤔Who do you put your trust in? Government leaders? Celebrities? Or God?
📖“Do not put your trust in princes, in mortal men, who cannot save” (Psalm 146:4)

🤔Do you listen to everything your mind tells you? Do you believe the lies?
📖“Whoever trusts in his own mind is a fool, but he who walks in wisdom will be delivered” (Proverbs 28:26)

🤔Are you focusing on this temporary world? Or are you striving for a pure heart?
📖“Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins” (1 Peter 4:8)

🤔Are you living in community, as God intended it to be? Are you educating one another, rather than tearing each other down?

😮A 2013 study found that patients who are being treated for mental-health issues such as depression or anxiety responded better to treatment if they believed in God

🤔Why?

🌈One of the reasons is because [religion] gives people a sense of purpose and meaning in life, and that helps them to make sense of negative things that happen to them

🧎‍♀️Studies suggest that meditation, and meditative prayer (such as prayer that repeats a particular phrase), activate areas of the brain involved in regulating emotional responses, including the frontal lobes

🙏It's also possible that the beliefs and teachings advocated by a religion — like forgiveness, love and compassion — may "become integrated into the way the brain works,"
