After years working as an optician-optometrist - with major brands as well as small créateur labels - Ludovic Elens kept noticing the same thing: clients settling for glasses that did not truly fit them. Not by choice, but because they simply could not find better. After training in Morez, in the Jura mountains of France - where the craft of handmade eyewear is still passed on - he returned to Brussels with a simple idea: to create frames that truly fit. Not just in size, but in proportion, in character, in how they feel to wear, and in how they age over time. Today, Ludovic Elens leads a Maison d’Artisans where each pair of glasses is designed and made in the Brussels atelier, from the first drawing to the final ajustage. Bespoke frames and pieces from the collection are crafted from carefully selected materials including acetate, buffalo horn, rare woods, precious metals and other exceptional materials. Over the years, the atelier has grown into a team of dedicated craftspeople. What began with one simple question - how to make glasses that truly fit - continues to guide the work today: refining, improving, and creating pieces that feel right from the moment they are worn. While most clients visit the Brussels atelier, Ludovic Elens also travels regularly to meet clients abroad, with trunk shows organised in the UK, France, Switzerland, the UAE and beyond.
