Before you release the hands, pause and observe.

This inverted position is not about hanging or flexibility.
It’s about control, awareness, and intelligent support.

As teachers, these are the non-negotiables to check before allowing a student to stay or progress:

• Neutral neck, no compression
• Space and integrity in the shoulders
• Active core engagement
• Even pelvic support in the hammock
• Secure, balanced leg wrap
• Calm and continuous breath

If any of these are missing, the pose is not ready — no matter how it looks.

Aerial yoga is not about shapes.
It’s about how the body is held, supported, and guided.

How I structure a 60-minute Aerial Yoga class 👇

1️⃣ Mat warm-up
Breath, spine, and joint mobility to prepare the nervous system and body.

2️⃣ Cocoon warm-up
Slow movements inside the hammock to build trust, activate the core, and feel supported.

3️⃣ Strength & activation
Legs, glutes, and shoulders get strong before we invert — this prevents injuries.

4️⃣ First inversion
Introduced only when the body is warm to decompress the spine and boost confidence.

5️⃣ Recovery & stretch
Gentle movements to reset the nervous system and avoid dizziness.

6️⃣ Second inversion
Deeper, stronger, more expansive — where transformation happens.

7️⃣ Deep stretching
Gravity helps release hips, back, and shoulders.

8️⃣ Final inversion
Calming, grounding, and regulating for the nervous system.

9️⃣ Integration & stillness
So the body absorbs all the benefits of the practice.
