What do you have on your Thanksgiving menu this year? 🦃👩🏽‍🍳🌽🥧 Any similarities to the menu at Mary Baker Eddy’s home on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 29, 1900?

“mock bisque soup, celery, pickles, roast Rhode Island turkey, cranberry sauce and jelly, white and sweet potatoes, steamed squash, boiled onions, mince and lemon pie, plum pudding, fruit and almond cake, assorted fruits and nuts and homemade candy.”

Eddy’s cook, Minnie Weygandt, kept a notebook of all the meals she served over the course of a year and she rarely repeated one! Her notebooks make for some fascinating reading.

A Christian Science Reading Room is a welcoming space for people to explore Christian Science through prayer, study, reading, and asking questions.

Products available in Reading Rooms include "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" and other books by Mary Baker Eddy, the Bible, pamphlets on Christian Science, children’s Bible stories, and inspirational music. Reading Rooms also offer copies of The Christian Science Monitor, an international news publication, and the Christian Science magazines, which document how Christian Science has helped people find healing from physical and emotional challenges. All are available to read or listen, borrow, and purchase.

Some Reading Rooms host regular events, including timely discussion groups, Bible reading groups, and free public talks on Christian Science.
