Welcome to the world sweet baby Mason!!

Mason made his appearance into the world last Sunday May 15th at 3:25pm as an 8 pound and very healthy sweet baby boy. He is absolutely perfect and we are all doing great.

It's been a blurry few days full of love, healing, delirium and constant snuggles as we adjust to being a family of four.

Will share more details soon but for now... We snuggle 🥰

☀️ CONNECTION ☀️ reduces inflammation, regulates hormones, and increases your resilience to stress 🧘‍♀️

Sharing some connection practices at the bottom 👇 of this post that you can start right now or this weekend to improve your well being and health

✅ Connection refers not only with others but, but more importantly with YOURSELF.

✅ People often struggle with their healing because they’re trying to create behav-
iors and routines that require a greater level of self-love and connection than they currently possess.

✅ You need the same elements that form the foundation of a healthy relationship
with another person to foster self-love and a healthy relationship with yourself.

✅ Like any skill, the only way to build self-love is PRACTICE

👉 Here are key elements to work on to improve your level of self-love:

1. ❤️ If you make promises to yourself, keep them.
2. ❤️ Respect yourself enough to make tending to your goals and your dreams a priority.
3. ❤️ Trust in your body’s innate ability to heal itself and that your dietary and lifestyle changes will help support the healing process.
4. ❤️ Take time for the healthy lifestyle practices (sleep, stress management, and movement).
5. ❤️ Be honest about your excuses or the limiting beliefs that stop your healthier
choices.
6. ❤️ Be kind and gentle with yourself, and notice if you are talking to yourself in a way that you would never talk to a friend.

Before I get into any updates after an 8 month social media fast I want to know... How are YOU doing? Like really doing?

Being a human is tough right now. If you have been feeling all the feels and perhaps on a bit of a rollercoaster of being fine/not fine this doesn't mean you're weak, it means that you are empathetic and strong enough to care.

But in order to act from a productive and grounded place, and not just get thrown around by the waves of day to day living, it is vital to take care of yourself. Taking time for yourself and self love is actually the least selfish thing you can do, now and always ❤️

My main update over here that is prob obv from this pic... I am 34 weeks 🤰, due in May!

It's been a challenging pregnancy and this, combined with some big delays getting childcare for Dax (mostly due to COVID restrictions), a move (still in Bahamas though 😎), and somehow pulling off a big project (details of this I will be able to share in a couple of weeks 🎉) meant a longer than anticipated step back from this space.

Grateful for so much and feeling more settled and in a bit of a routine now that we have had a few weeks of consistent morning childcare.

A huge thank you for sticking around this space after months of satellite silence from me and also for all the beautiful messages over the past few months. Love to you all and I look forward to posting more here and also hearing/ checking out what YOU are up to ❤️

Did you know that seafood is one of the most nutrient dense and inflammation-fighting foods you can eat?

If you are like me, you find probably find it difficult to stay on top of getting your daily serving of seafood in. I created this Autoimmune Protocol (AIP), Paleo, Dairy free, gluten free and whole30 compliant seafood chowder to make hitting your weekly quota of seafood a bit easier!

This simple to make simple-to-make seafood chowder is a favorite from my new book, 'The Psoriasis AIP Cookbook'. What's the key to working out and getting stronger with autoimmunity and hormonal imbalance (without causing a flare)?
🔑🔑Pay attention to how your workouts are making you feel and adjust accordingly🔑🔑
✅ Taking an (honest) assement of how you feel during and after your workouts is the most important thing you can do to ensure you that your workout is causing more good than harm.
✅ If the workout makes you feel GOOD and does not trigger a flare-up, that is a sign that you can try increasing the duration and add some intensity.
✅ If the workout makes you feel like 💩, the healthiest thing you can do for yourself is to rest, and the next time you do it, back off the intensity and duration.
📖Story time:
I'm at a point in my health and post partum journey right now where I feel good and like I can add in some intensity without causing flares.
It wasn't always like this though! My training used to be all or nothing, with the sole purpose being to push myself to my limits 🙈
I would ignore any obvious signs that the workout was exacerbating my autoimmune symptoms and hormonal imbalances
I subscribed to the notion that, the harder I pushed myself healthier I would become 🙄
Now I only exercise in a way that makes me feel good and adjust accordingly, and I am stronger so much healthier then I was when I was an 'athlete'
I created the resistance workout in this vid when I was pregnant (hence all of the 'goddess squats') and loved it so much I've continued doing it post natal and beyond!
I introduced this workout gradually! When I started I was using 3 pound weights and doing one circuit.
Post natal I stayed with the 3 pound weights, eventually increasing to 2 circuits... Then 3 circuits.. Then 5 pound weights. I increased GRADUALLY based on how I felt.
🔑If any exercise I'm doing causes a flare (for me usually involves body pain, anxiety, brain fog, insomnia), I back off and dial back the intensity the next time I do it
