๐ข *Attention to All Counsellors and Mental Health Advocates!*
*Dear Counsellors* , Student Counsellors, and Individuals Interested in Mental Health,
Last week, the Botswana Counselling Association (BCA) organized a crucial consultative meeting in Gaborone for counsellors from the Southern part of Botswana. The focus of this gathering was centered around the recently passed Mental Health Act, with its regulations anticipated to be finalized this July. Despite the progress made, there are still pending issues that directly concern us as counsellors. One of the key topics addressed was the establishment of a clear counselling scope, aiming to have counselling listed in the BHPC Schedule B.
Now, it's time for counsellors from the Northern region of Botswana to actively engage in these pressing matters. We extend a warm invitation to you to participate in a similar consultative meeting scheduled for tomorrow, the 23rd of March 2024. This event presents a unique opportunity for us to delve into discussions regarding the Mental Health Act, the formulation of a counselling scope, and pertinent issues impacting Guidance Teachers, as well as unemployed Graduate Counselors.
๐ *Venue* : BA ISAGO University, East Wing, Haskins Building, Francistown
๐ *Time* : Starting at 10:00 AM
Your presence and input are invaluable as we collectively strive to shape the future landscape of counselling and mental health services in Botswana. Let's come together to voice our concerns, share insights, and chart a course towards a more comprehensive and effective support system.
Looking forward to seeing you there!
