MEMBERSHIP NOTICE REGARDING DEVELOPMENTS WITHIN THE LEADERSHIP STRUCTURE OF THE SOCIETY

Dear Esteemed BOTUBS Members

The Executive Committee hereby formally notifies the General Membership of the following developments within the leadership structure of the Society:

1. Resignation of Treasurer

1.1 The Society has received and accepted the resignation of Mr John Bale from his position as Treasurer of BTU Burial Society, effective 28 February 2026.

1.2 The Executive Committee expresses its sincere appreciation to Mr Bale for his dedicated service, commitment, and contribution to the financial stewardship and governance of the Society during his tenure. We wish him success in his future endeavours.

2. Appointment of Treasurer

2.1 In accordance with Article 11.1 of the BTU Burial Society Constitution, the Executive Committee convened and resolved to appoint Mr Koziba Mogowa as Treasurer with effect from 01 March 2026.

2.2 Mr Mogowa will assume full responsibility for the financial oversight and treasury functions of the Society with immediate effect.

3. Appointment of Additional Member

3.1 The Executive Committee further resolved to appoint Mrs Precious Tsiako as an Additional Member of the Executive Committee with effect from 01 March 2026.

3.2 Mrs Tsiako joins the Executive Committee to strengthen governance and strategic oversight in line with the Society’s constitutional mandate.

3.3 The Executive Committee assures all members that governance, financial controls, and operational processes remain stable and uninterrupted. The Society continues to uphold the highest standards of accountability, transparency, and service to its membership.

3.4 Members are encouraged to direct any official treasury-related correspondence to the Office of the Treasurer through the Society’s administration office.

BOTUBS SHOWS ITS COMPASSIONATE AND MUTUAL SUPPORT TO ITS MEMBERS

In an endeavour to live by its slogan, A SHOULDER TO LEAN ON’, the Botswana Teachers Union Members Burial Society (BOTUBS) on Tuesday handed over the pledge to the tune of P21,000 towards the reconstruction of a house belonging to Ms Lorato Solomon in Mochudi.

The donation, which includes cash and building materials vouchers, will assist Ms Solomon in raising enough building materials to reconstruct her house, which was gutted by fire just two days before the new year, on 30 December 2025.

According to Ms Solomon, the incident happened when no one was home. “We were told by the neighbours that our house is ablaze with fire,” she said when appreciating the donation from BOTUBS.

Remarking about the pledge by the Society, BOTUBS Secretary, Mr Thapelo Ookame, it resonates well with the foundation principles of unity, compassion and mutual support among members of the teaching fraternity.

He said, " As educators, we shape the future of our nation. Yet, beyond the classroom, we are a family bound not only by profession, but by shared responsibility and care for one another.”

BOTUBS was assisted by its partners, Endless Eternity, Axion Life, Bona Life, and Chartered Insurance Brokers, in raising this pledge.
