The World Economic Forum has selected Botswana's Minister of Health, Hon. Dr Stephen Modise, as one of its most influential young leaders for 2026.

This prestigious recognition will no doubt inspire young leaders across Botswana and beyond to strive for excellence in serving their communities.

Dr Modise assumed leadership of the Ministry of Health following the 2024 general elections. Since then, he has spearheaded transformative reforms that will definitely deliver quality health services for all Batswana. Key initiatives include the planned rollout of the National Health Insurance (NHI), which will ensure that all Batswana, regardless of background, location, or socio-economic status, access equitable health services.

The Ministry of Health joins the nation in celebrating this remarkable achievement by one of their own.

HOSPITAL SUPERINTENDENT SHARES A COMMITMENT TO AN OPEN DOOR FOR COMMUNICATION MANAGEMENT PHILOSOPHY

Scottish Livingstone Hospital-Hospital Superintendent Dr.Onkgopotse Oduetse actively encouraged employees to share ideas,concerns or feedback at anytime.She said this during a meet and greet session for all employees this morning.

Dr.Oduetse further outlined the importance of adopting this management philosophy citing that it improves patient-centered care and staff wellbeing.The meet and greet session with all employees was held to build rapport and set a collaborative tone for her tenure.

In attendance during this session were the nursing cadre,clinical,allied health,administration and support staff representatives.

HOSPITAL SUPERINTENDENT ENGAGES ON A TOUR OF THE HOSPITAL

Following her appointment as the Scottish Livingstone Hospital-Hospital Superintendent,Dr. Onkgopotse Oduetse engaged on a tour of the hospital with Senior Management yesterday.

The purpose of the tour was to gain first hand insight into the hospital operations,connect with employees across all departments/Units as well as to align leadership priorities with ground realities.

Dr. Oduetse appreciated the efforts and challenges each department encounters and encouraged employees to continue upholding professional code of conduct when delivering services to improve customer satisfaction.
