In Canada, surrogacy is built on care, not compensation.
Surrogates are reimbursed for pregnancy-related expenses, never paid for carrying a baby🤰🏼
This ensures the journey stays ethical, respectful, and rooted in helping families grow.

Are most of your intended parents in Canada?
Many of our intended parents are based in Canada, but we proudly support families from all over the world🌍
Canada is one of the most inclusive countries when it comes to family building and does not discriminate against single parents or same s*x couples in adoption, egg donation, or surrogacy.
Because many countries do not allow these pathways, intended parents often choose Canada to safely and legally build their families🩷

Whether you're an intended parent, donor, or someone navigating your own donor-conceived story, this episode offers compassionate insights and powerful reasons to consider a known donation path.

If your intended parents’ clinic is elsewhere in Canada, you have the chance to travel there and your donation related expenses are covered.

One of the most overlooked benefits of egg donation?🩷✨
Getting a deep look into your own reproductive health👀
When you become an egg donor, you’re not just helping someone build a family. You gain valuable insights into your own body, too.
🧬 Genetic Testing: Learn about inherited conditions you may carry (even the silent ones) giving you a clearer picture for future family planning
💉 Hormone Analysis: Understand your hormonal health, including markers like AMH (anti-Müllerian hormone), which reflects your ovarian reserve
👩⚕️ Fertility Assessment: You’ll receive a professional evaluation of your reproductive health… something most people only get if they struggle to conceive.
Knowledge is empowering🩷 and egg donation offers a unique chance to learn more about your health while making a life-changing impact.

You'll learn:
- Why Mexico is becoming a top choice for international egg donation
- What medical and psychological screening is required for donors
- How does a known donation still work, even across borders
- What level of support can you expect throughout the journey
- A realistic look at cost comparisons between Mexico and Canada
- How donor matching is done and how long it typically takes
If you’re an intended parent considering your options, or just want to better understand cross-border fertility care, this episode has the insights you need to make informed choices.
Known donation is rooted in openness, choice, and empowerment for everyone involved.
It allows you and the intended parents to decide together what level of connection feels right… both now and in the future.
Whether that connection includes messages, updates, or simply understanding each other’s story, Her Helping Habit supports relationships that are thoughtful, respectful, and genuinely grounded🫱🏻🫲🏽

At HHH, our belief in known egg donation is rooted in connection💖 not just between donor and intended parents, but for the donor-conceived child at the heart of it all.
Known donation creates space for openness, identity, and access to information that can be deeply meaningful as children grow. It prioritizes honesty, choice, and the understanding that this journey doesn’t end at birth… it lasts a lifetime.
We support pathways that honour relationships, prioritize transparency, and centre the future emotional well-being of donor-conceived children🧑🧑🧒

The Her Helping Habit surrogacy team came together in Alberta for a holiday meet-up filled with good food, meaningful conversations, and plenty of laughter.
Our work is rooted in connection, and spending time together in person is a meaningful reminder of why we do what we do. Nothing compares to gathering with the people behind our program. We are deeply grateful for this team, the work we share, and the families we support every day.
Wishing our community a warm, peaceful, and joy-filled holiday season. 🎄

This is why we do what we do💖
Reading words like this reminds us that care, presence, and compassion truly matter. Knowing our donor felt informed, supported, and safe throughout their egg donation journey is everything to us.
Our coordinators don’t just manage logistics… they show up, answer all your questions, travel alongside you when needed, and hold space through every step. That level of trust is something we never take lightly.
To our donors who choose to walk this path with us: we are endlessly grateful.
And to our team, this is the impact you make every single day.
Thinking about egg donation and wondering what real support looks like? We’re always here to talk.

Her Helping Habit is the first agency of its kind based in Canada, which specializes in helping women on their journey to motherhood and fulfilling womanhood via known-egg donation coordination, fertility consulting, and online counselling services.
Created in 2018 in Alberta, Canada with a mission to change lives, Founder Katie Paquin works on a holistic level with her clients, and this has led to numerous women benefiting from counselling to overcome the challenges of infertility, loss, or trauma, dozens of Intended Parents globally who have been guided through the egg donor process resulting in successful pregnancies, and individuals who have received education or information on their fertility options.
Katie Paquin is Canada’s premier Known-Donor Egg Donation advocate, Lead Coordinator and Founder of Her Helping Habit. She empowers women to take back control of their fertility journey and uses her training as a registered social worker, therapeutic counsellor and yoga teacher to guide and support women, both physically and mentally, on their journey to motherhood.
She prides herself on connecting with her clients on a profound level to offer her services with honesty, respect, and transparency. In 2015 she became a known-egg donor herself for the first time and has since then helped 3 families conceive thanks to her donations.
She is a member of the Alberta College of Social Workers and the Association of Cooperative Counselling Therapists of Canada and a certified Yoga Instructor. She hopes to continue inspiring women throughout Canada and in the near future expand her agency globally.
