Truth and Reconciliation: A Full Circle Moment
Today, on September 30th —Truth and Reconciliation Day, I reflect on how far I’ve come as an Indigenous woman and how deeply this journey has been about healing.
My late granny, my late mom, and my older sister all attended Residential school. Three generations before me carried that pain. But with me, it stopped. I had a choice: to continue the cycle or to heal. I chose to pray. I chose to heal.
For the little girl inside of me who didn’t always get the love and support she needed…this is a full circle moment. I never thought I would be here, standing in a place where I get to empower women, guide them in holistic health, and connect our healing back to the Medicine wheel.
When we heal from our traumas and pain, we are not just healing ourselves—we are creating healthier families, stronger communities, and brighter generations to come. That is the true spirit of reconciliation: restoring balance, reclaiming our strength, and honoring our stories.
We are strong. We are resilient. And we are still here. 🧡
