That loss hit harder than many may have expected.
Itâs strange how something that doesnât directly involve us
can still leave us sitting there with that familiar heaviness.
Many of us felt it... the breath we didnât realize we were holding,
the tension in our shoulders, or that quiet (or loud) ugh when this one slipped away.
Thatâs disappointment showing up in real time.
If you slow down and turn your attention inward, you will notice that our bodies react long before our minds make sense of it.
And thatâs where awareness comes in.
That pause when we notice the impact
Weâre tense, weâre holding our breath, weâre feeling it.
Thatâs where regulation begins.
Not by shutting it down,
but by noticing whatâs happening underneath it.
Awareness softens the edges.
It can help us come back to balance,
back to calm,
back to ourselves.
This game is over, and more are on the way...so...
