Lavender has a special place in my heart.
This story is one of the reasons that made me choose to share these oils with everyone, especially moms, over a decade ago. It’s been a while since I shared it so I’m posting it here!
Several years ago, something started happening to our daughter that made us realize, 💩 💩, even the big hospitals in Toronto don’t know what to do. We’re on our own.
The first time it happened, the school sent her to the hospital in an AMBULANCE.
She was hyperventilating, but hold on.
It was the strangest thing. It’s like she was sneezing and coughing at the same time, could barely breathe and she couldn’t stop. For about 30min at a time.
It would hit at random times. I remember watching her cross country race as she’s always been an athlete, and she didn’t get to the finish line. I panicked and ran the course backwards. Sure enough, she was on the ground and it was happening again.
The first hospital said it’s a virus.
The second hospital said allergy
The family doctor said it’s stress, give her chamomile tea
The last hospital said I think it’s anxiety.
But that’s it. Nothing we could do about it.
I was new to Natural Intelligence 🤩 aka, essential oils at the time but I remember my friend saying Lavender is like Ativan. Two drops and boom, stress comes down.
The next time it happened, I put lavender in my hand and cupped over her mouth.
It stopped within SECONDS!!!
So it was anxiety, but modern medicine didn’t have a solution for her. Not that I would have ever put her on SSRIs but thankfully that was never suggested.
It was so simple. Drops of pure, pharmaceutical grade lavender, she could use it as needed, didn’t cause addictions or side effects.
Just the power of Linalool, an amazing calming plant compound found in high concentration in high quality lavender.
She used Lavender a few mores times when it happened and it stopped happening.
That story fuelled me to tell other moms about these oils.
Every mom should feel as empowered as I did in that moment!
