We are entering the summer months. While we enjoy the sunshine and warm days, heat can become a health risk if not monitored. Our CCAs are encouraged to watch for signs of heat stress and have been given best practices for preventing heat stroke. These included staying hydrated, taking breaks as necessary, using cooling towels provided by the office, and if necessary, during particularly hot periods, doing only those tasks necessary if they are not in air conditioned environments.
We would ask our clients and caregivers to be aware of the risks of heat stress, not only for our workers, but for clients and family's health as well.

Now Hiring: Data Management Assistant

Full-time TERM position with immediate start.
Working with a networked team in coordinating, scheduling, and supporting delivery of client services.
Hours of work: Monday through Friday with an expectation of weekend/holiday rotations.
Successful applicant must have:
Business or office administration program diploma or equivalent experience;
A working knowledge of and skills with Excel & Word;
Ability to learn new scheduling/payroll platform;
Excellent communication skills;
Ability to follow instructions and multitask;
Ability to be both self-directed and work within a team;
Good time management to efficiently organize priorities & deadlines;
Ability to respond to and adapt to changes in a fast-paced daily work environment.

Due to the weather/road conditions throughout Yarmouth County we wish to advise our clients that your visits may or may not be affected. Conditions can vary considerably from one district to the other and may cause delays and/or cancellations. We value the safety of our staff and they will proceed as conditions allow. However, we would remind clients and their families to be prepared to use their backup plans if necessary. We want to wish our clients, their families, and our staff a very safe and Merry Christmas!

Our office will be closed this afternoon, opening on Friday, December 27th. We will also be closed the afternoon of New Years Eve, opening on Thursday, January 2nd.
Should you have a concern, you can leave a message at 902-648-2137 and someone will get back to you.

This is also a reminder that weather and road conditions may or may not affect your service, depending on winter conditions in your area and how far staff are traveling. We ask that you be prepared to activate your back-up plan, just in case.
