Hi, my name is Nicole and I'm a Naturopathic Doctor & Sports Nutritionist with a passion for mental health, sports medicine, weight management, and sleep optimization. My journey into healthcare began with a fascination for the biochemistry of nutrition—how the food we eat literally becomes us at a cellular level. This curiosity led me through the science of Dietetics, into the high-performance world of Olympic sports nutrition, and ultimately to Naturopathic Medicine where I could integrate it all. Along the way, I discovered something powerful: when we address the whole person—their sleep, their stress, their movement, their nourishment—we don't just treat symptoms, we transform lives. I've spent years working in obesity medicine and sports performance, witnessing firsthand how interconnected our physical and mental health truly are. Whether you're an athlete chasing peak performance, someone struggling with weight and energy, or seeking better sleep and mental clarity, I'm ready to become your trusted partner in creating a lasting health transformation. Dr. Nicole Jolliffe is a Naturopathic Doctor. She graduated from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM) 2025. Prior to this, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry Nutrition from Memorial University, a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics from Acadia University, and a Graduate Diploma in High Performance Sports Nutrition from the International Olympic Committee.

Let’s talk about something that doesn’t get enough attention—managing expectations on your weight loss journey.

Over the last 10 years I have taken time to talk about weight management expectations with all of my patients with weight loss goals and I think it is the most important skill you develop on this journey.

Here are 7 things to remember as you begin your weight management journey:

1️⃣ Progress isn’t linear. Some weeks you’ll feel unstoppable. Other weeks, you’ll feel stuck. Both are normal. Both are part of the process. The path forward rarely looks like a straight line, and that’s okay.

2️⃣ The scale doesn’t tell the whole story. It’s just one data point, not the measure of your worth or success. Your body is doing incredible things that numbers can’t capture.

3️⃣ Getting curious about your hunger cues changes everything. Learning to recognize true hunger versus boredom, stress, or thirst helps you understand what your body actually needs. This awareness shifts how you feel physically and emotionally throughout your day.

4️⃣ Your cravings are messengers. They’re not the enemy. Sometimes they signal nutrient needs. Sometimes they point to emotions you need to process. Sometimes they’re just cravings. Learning to decode them removes the guilt and brings clarity.

5️⃣ Celebrate the wins that have nothing to do with the scale. More energy. Better sleep. Clothes fitting differently. Feeling stronger. Improved mood. Less digestive discomfort. These victories matter just as much, if not more.

6️⃣ Sustainable routines are game changers. Forget perfection. Build routines you can actually maintain on your busiest, most chaotic days. That’s where real transformation happens.

7️⃣ Here’s the big one: Habit change and behavior change are not the same thing. Habits are the actions you repeat. Behavior change is the deeper shift in how you think, respond, and relate to food and your body. Behavior change is the lifelong game—and it’s where lasting change lives.

Your journey is uniquely yours. Trust the process, honor where you are, and remember that sustainable change takes time.

1️⃣ Patients that trust me with their care.

2️⃣ Supportive colleagues & clinic staff.

3️⃣ Time to place all of my effort into personalized care.

4️⃣ Years of multi-disciplinary post-secondary education that has provided me with a wealth of knowledge I can share.

5️⃣ Leaving the office every day feeling inspired by how much I love my job.
