Did you know beds can have hidden entrapment risks that could harm residents? Health Canada identifies seven risk zones, and around 72% of incidents happen in just four of them.

Our Valley technician Steve Hiltz is using a specialized device to test the 4 most critical areas:

· Zone 1: Potential head entrapment within a rail

· Zone 2: Potential head entrapment between bottom of rail and mattress and between rail supports

· Zone 3: Potential head entrapment between edges of mattress and inside the rail

· Zone 4: Potential neck entrapment between top of mattress and bottom of the rail end

By checking these high-risk zones, we help ensure beds are safe and meet Health Canada standards.

It's Stop Pressure Injury Day!

Let's support health-system decision-makers, frontline care providers and patients and their families in preventing and managing P*s by integrating systems of care to enable prevention, early detection and treatment.
