This month our parent support group has invited Autism Ontario Peel Service Navigator and Autism Ontario York Service Navigator as guest speakers to discuss about various funding options available to parents with children who have been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Parents are invited to the centre to watch the presentation in person on our screen, or virtually Via Zoom! Light refreshments will be offered.

Our occupational therapist Vanessa utilizes movie clips such as “Buddy Discovers New York City” from Elf as part of her session to help facilitate learning Hidden Rules and Expected vs. Unexpected Behaviours! Buddy certainly engages in some unexpected behaviours when he first goes to the Big Apple.😝🍎 She loves using common movie clips to keep Social Thinking discussions fun & engaging for kids!

Speech therapy can look different for every kiddo! But one things for sure… Play, toys, books, flash cards, and objects are all important tools for language intervention and facilitation! 🗣📚

Our ABA sessions are filled with activities to help promote development! The use of clay encourages sensory development, encourages fine motor and coordination skills, boosts self esteem, and builds imagination!
