Those patterns helped you survive when you didn’t have the tools you do now.
But you’ve grown, you are no longer a helpless child, and you can learn new ways to feel safe, to soothe, to heal.
It’s okay to thank your old coping mechanisms for getting you this far, and then gently let them go. 💛

Many of us deeply one love, and have been taught I fear it. This is an attachment style where we can go hot or cold. We can come on strong and seek security— they feel a strong desire to self isolate.

Attachment is wired into our biology, but it’s also fluid. Through healthy communication, awareness, and a partner who is willing to do the work we can all be more secure.
