Sharlene’s story begins not at the inception of True Ally, but during her tenure at a leading mental health organization. It was here, amidst the challenges of an environment marked by a stifling hierarchy and cultural toxicity, that Sharlene’s vision for a different kind of workplace began to take shape. Faced with a system resistant to change and a voice that struggled to be heard, Sharlene experienced the very realities she now works to eradicate. A resilient leader and advocate, Sharlene stood at the crossroads between enduring the status quo and igniting a transformation. Her departure from the organization was not an end but a catalyst for a new mission — one to redefine the essence of a healthy workplace, from the ground up. As a Black woman, Sharlene’s perspective is enriched by the diversity of her experiences, driving her to champion inclusivity and authenticity in the corporate realm. Her vision is straightforward yet profound: crafting a world where every employee, regardless of their background, can flourish.
