When Rene, a 61-year-old from Terrace, BC, was urgently airlifted to Vancouver and diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia, his life changed overnight. After nine months of treatment, he was finally able to return home. But recovery meant ongoing follow-up appointments more than 1,350 kilometres away. With his health still fragile, flying was the only option. With support from Hope Air, Rene could travel to the care he needed without the added burden of cost, allowing him to focus on healing in the community he loves.

Stories like Rene’s are why LNG Canada has committed $10,000 to Hope Air. This funding supports medical travel arrangements for residents of Terrace, Kitimat, and surrounding Indigenous communities, ensuring patients can access essential care when it’s needed most. LNG Canada is committed to making sure local communities benefit from its work, with investments focused on Kitimat, Terrace, and neighbouring Indigenous communities. The company also invests in programs that advance community wellness, workforce and enterprise, education, and environmental stewardship. Through partnerships with organizations like Hope Air, LNG Canada responds to what matters most in the community, supporting programs that enhance the health, safety, and well-being of local residents.

This is our incredible weight room at the Bruce Oake Recovery Centre! Exercise plays a powerful role in recovery, helping to reduce stress, build confidence, and strengthen both body and mind. 🏋️‍♂️

Participants use this space daily, and we are so grateful to have a facility that supports healing through fitness. None of this would have been possible without the generosity of our community, thank you to Irv and Lana Applebaum, David and Ruth Asper, Scotty’s Wash Inc., Niles Whitesell, Scott Whitesell, and Fitness Experience for making this weight room a reality.

At Renascent’s Graham Munro Centre, our dedicated clinical team provides compassionate addiction treatment designed specifically for women. Every day, they create a space where healing is possible, dignity is restored, and hope takes root.
