Connection time with you child is SO important, you can build this into your bedtime routine and you can also spend 5 minutes to chat about their day before bed while laying with them. BUT you can also set a firm, loving boundary that you’re leaving the room after that time is up (sometimes a visual timer can be helpful).

Many parents come to me saying that they aren’t able to put their toddler down for bed unless they lay with them until they are fast asleep. Then they find themselves having to do this in the middle of the night again when their child wakes.

I say this in the most loving way, you’re the parent and you set the boundaries, not your toddler. You’re not being “mean” by teaching them a life skill, which is to fall asleep without you beside them.

Build in connection time before bedtime, doing a calm, interactive activity (we love matching games and bingo) plus book time. This will fill both of your invisible “connection buckets” 🤍

Children at this age need preparation, when you’re going to make a change, talk to them about it in an age appropriate way. Give them a few days notice of the change and lead the change with confidence. Children depend on us to be leaders (yes, even when they show resistance) 😮‍💨

As a mom, we always want the best for our children and when we can’t figure out the right approach to support them it’s a tough ... until you discover the missing piece of the puzzle!!

For us that was cranialsacral therapy 🙌🏻 Literally cannot say enough about how it has helped our oldest 🥹

I’ve worked in pediatrics for nearly 2 decades (holy geez, where did that time go) … I have always been interested in supporting infants, young children and their families - it’s my soul path and I know this to be true!!

After becoming a mom I realized how tough motherhood really can be and having a supportive community means everything ✨

Whether this be other moms, family, people who offer community programs and someone like me who is an expert on specific topics that you need support with!

Accessing support for sleep challenges, potty training (the 💩 battles) and understanding your child’s development can make such a difference in your day-to-day. These are all areas I’m passionate about supporting families with!!

I recently ran a 3-week sleep series to teach parents all about their baby’s sleep and learn tips and tricks about how to support a stronger sleep foundation for their baby!!
