2022 AQHA 🩷
Well built, excellent mind and a sweet set of papers on this little lady!
She has been saddled and had one ride earlier this spring. I was not planning on selling this one but I just don’t have the time I need for her with others on the go and I’ve got some bills to pay.
She is so athletic and smart, will make a wicked prospect to take in any direction - breakaway, barrels, penning or take her to the show pen! And will make a fantastic addition to the broodmare pen after a few years of riding.
Loads, ties, and stands good for farrier.
Low-mid 4 figures. Price WILL increase the more training is put on her. Located by Leslieville, AB

First rides!
To saddle or not to saddle ?

When starting horses and putting the first couple rides on I will start off ba****ck 99% of the time - for a few reasons! One being, I prefer to introduce the horse to a rider with as minimal distractions as possible. Over stimulation isn’t just something people experience, and the combination of too many unfamiliar sensations can play a huge part in first rides. Hopping on ba****ck for the first few times I’m on a horse’s back allows them to feel the weight and sensation of a rider without having to also be preoccupied thinking about a saddle, cinch, bridle, or anything else.

Is this a painfully boring video? Yes! Is that exactly how every first ride should be? YES! This little two year old is so sensitive and reactive, I was so pleased with her being as relaxed and comfortable as she was today.

Hi folks! With how things are looking so far this year I’m thinking of opening my books back up and taking in a few horses in this next little bit.

Offering c**t starting, tune ups, conditioning, halter breaking, exposure, you name it;)

My program is geared towards creating soft, willing, all around horses that excel in any direction they are taken. With a huge focus on establishing trust and respect between both the horse and rider. All my horses are ridden out on pasture, through bush/water, exposed to vehicles, dogs, cattle, ropes, etc.

I do not rush my horses, they are allowed to progress to the next step as they are ready instead of pushing them to their max and creating distrust/blow ups.

Please shoot me a message if you’re interested in booking some spots this spring/summer!

Wanted to take a minute to say thank you to all the support I received this year and entrusting me with all your awesome horses! I will always be of the belief that we never stop learning and this year was a full one of lessons and fun for both me and our equine friends!
As fall is coming around the corner my books are officially closed for the next foreseeable bit and I will be headed to school back down in Calgary.

Have a lovely fall and winter!

Session 4 and ride #3 for this foundation/reining bred two year old! This awesome little c**t is by K & H Acres Quarterhorses and Corgis’s grulla stud and also happens to be for sale! Absolutely wonderful mind on these babies.

A prime example of why all my sessions that should be 1hr turn into 2hrs+ 😉
While we’re on the topic - I absolutely love and even prioritize making time throughout a training session to love on these horses and to let them relax and really soak in what they’re learning that day.
Taking breaks between lessons will not slow down your progress in anyway, in fact it will do the opposite! By slowing things down and taking the time to connect with your horse, you are going to build confidence and a relationship in which your horse can learn that you are their happy place.

If anyone guarantees a short timeframe to break your horse in, they're right.
It will be broken.
In both mind and body.
Training young horses really well takes a lot of thought and patience.

"The thing you are trying to help the horse do is to use his own mind. You are trying to present something and then let him figure out how to get there." - Tom Dorrance.

From Tom's book 'True Unity'.

Approximately ride #10 on this 2yr old meant a small introduction to body control! Shoulder control, cross overs, turn on the haunches and turn on the forehand are all extremely important fundamentals to getting that broke, soft feel we all love in our horses. These are also vital buttons to establish in order to set our horses up for the proper lead, side passes, leg yeilds, spins, and eventually flying lead changes.

It’s important to go at these maneuvers with lots of patience and to release at the slightest try in the beginning in order to create a relaxed horse that continuously wants to try for you!
