Sunday Slow Down ☕️ 📚

In the rush of busy schedules and endless to-do lists, it's so easy to reach for quick fixes and supplements to fill the gaps. But there's something irreplaceable about getting our nutrients straight from whole foods. 🍄‍🟫

FALL WISDOM: Trading crop tops for cozy layers 🍂

As temperatures drop, Traditional Chinese Medicine reminds us that prevention is the ultimate medicine.

Here's some ways to protect your health this season:

1. KEEP YOUR FEET + ANKLES WARM 🧦
In TCM, your kidneys are the foundation of your body's vital energy (Qi) and immunity. They're closely connected to your feet through meridian pathways. Cold feet can weaken kidney function, leaving you vulnerable to illness. Think of warm socks as your first line of defense against fall and winter bugs.

2. PROTECT YOUR NECK WITH A SCARF 🧣
The back of your neck contains crucial acupuncture points called "Wind Gates" (Feng Fu and Feng Chi).
When exposed to cold wind, these points become entry ways for what TCM calls "pathogenic wind-cold" - leading to stiff necks, headaches, body aches, and that run-down feeling that precedes getting sick. A simple scarf creates a powerful protective barrier.

It is officially the first day of fall - the air is crisp + the leaves are starting to change colors. 🍂🍁

In TCM, this is the season to draw inwards, slow down, reflect + let go of what does not serve you.

Days are getting shorter, which means take the necessary time you need to rest and recover.

Ensure you are taking care of your physical, mental and emotional heath.

Some tips to ease the transition into shorter days:
🔸️ get regular acupuncture to boost your mood + nourish your immune system
🔸️ vitamin D supplements
🔸️ 10,000 lux light exposure (Happy Light season)
🔸️ get outside for a walk in the sunshine

EAR SEEDS -- Tiny seeds, big wellness! ✨

These little ear seeds are working their auricular therapy magic - a practice that's been used for many years to support health and wellness.

What makes this so fascinating?

Your ear is like a microsystem of your entire body! When we apply gentle acupressure to specific points, we can actually influence your vagus nerve - that incredible "superhighway" that connects your brain to major organs throughout your body. 🧠

The vagus nerve is your body's main relaxation pathway, controlling your "rest and digest" response.

By stimulating these ear points, we can help activate parasympathetic nervous system (rest +digest) function to aid in reducing stress, improving sleep, supporting digestion, and promoting that deep sense of calm.

Think of it as hitting your internal reset button.🔄

Aftercare Tips:
•Keep seeds dry - avoid getting them soaking wet
• Gently massage them 2-3x daily for 30-60 seconds
• They can stay on for 3-5 days

We're in late summer season (3rd week of August - Fall Equinox) - a time for grounding and nourishment!

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, this season connects to the Earth element and our digestive system (spleen & stomach). It's common to feel a bit scattered or experience digestive issues during this transition.
