When you allow space for the uncomfortable feelings, that’s often where real healing begins.

As we move into a new year — with goals, dreams, and reflection — it’s tempting to stay busy, stay positive, or tell ourselves “it’s not that bad.”

Avoidant tendencies can look helpful on the surface, but when positivity is used to bypass hard feelings, it can actually keep us stuck.

In this reel, Amy talks about how avoidance and toxic positivity can quietly show up — and why making room for the uncomfortable stuff is often where meaningful change starts. đŸ€

You don’t have to force gratitude. You’re allowed to feel what you feel.

We have 4 spots remaining and would LOVE for you to share this evidence-based resource with a client that may benefit from this specialized area. I will own my professional bias in the fact that the previous group we held was powerful and focused on collective healing - the women formed such strong cohesion that they continue to meet and keep in contact over the past 6 months since the group ended.

We are 3 weeks away and would appreciate you sharing the word with any clients about our 8 week evidence-based women’s in-person group with any clients that could benefit from a safe, nonjudgmental space wanting to share space with others to heal their narcissistic wounds. We have screened carefully, planned thoughtfully, and are providing two facilitators given the triggering nature of this area - one therapist is available for one on one support in addition to the other facilitator running the group. Please email me at amy@centerstreetpsychology.com if you have any additional questions. 😊

Starting therapy can feel big - for kids and for parents. 💛

Our therapist - Ciara Neave - shares a gentle reminder: you don’t need to show up with all the answers. You don’t need to have it “figured out.”

You just need to come as you are.

Therapy is a space where kids can explore feelings, process experiences, and build skills in a way that feels safe and supported.

And it’s a space for parents too - because navigating your child’s emotions can bring up your own.

What helps most in those early sessions?

✹ Being open
✹Being curious
✹Being willing to learn alongside your child

You’re not expected to be perfect. You’re expected to be present. And we’ll guide the rest, together.

If you’re wondering whether therapy might help your child or your family, we’re here to walk through it with you.

The holidays can be joyful
but they can also feel heavy.

More plans, more expectations, more emotional labour - until “yes” becomes automatic, even when your body is quietly saying no.

Our therapist, Maryam Abro, suggests a thoughtful, compassionate “no” can be one of the most caring choices we make - for ourselves and the people we love.

This season, try approaching your “no” from a place of authenticity, emotional safety, and collaboration—the Positive “No” Method. It’s a way to honour your needs without guilt, defensiveness, or conflict, and to create boundaries that feel both firm and kind.

Healthy boundaries support emotional regulation, self-trust, and healing - especially during high-pressure times.

If you’re navigating family expectations, working on clearer boundaries, or wanting to build confidence in your “no,” our therapists are here to walk alongside you.
