Studies show 1 in 5 people are neurodivergent, yet many individuals living with neurodivergence still face barriers to meaningful employment.

SupportABILITY uses the 8 principles of the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) model to guide clients in overcoming these barriers and finding meaningful work:

• Competitive jobs anyone can apply for
• Job search support based on your interests and goals
• A job search plan developed within the first month
• Support that works with your health team
• Clear, personalized guidance about your benefits
• Everyone is welcome, no one is excluded
• Support for as long as you need it
• Your choices and preferences always come first

Small changes can make a big difference.

Inclusive practices remove barriers and create space for more people to contribute, grow, and do their best work.

With recent data showing that a third of Canadian employees are planning to change jobs in early 2026, creating inclusive and supportive workplaces matters more than ever. Our work supports individuals while also partnering with employers to build accessible, welcoming environments.

Our very own Sam and Nikki from the CBI Health SupportABILITY team were making a splash at the DEAM 2025 IDEA Conference, chatting about our groundbreaking IPS model of employment services. 👏

SupportABILITY provides free, comprehensive employment services to folks living with disabilities, mental health issues and other barriers. Our team is pioneering an evidence-based model in Alberta called Individual Placement and Supports, which centres individual health, needs and goals to secure sustainable employment outcomes.

This year, SupportABILITY is excited to be partnered with the Alberta Employment First Network in sponsoring the Disability Employment Awareness Month (DEAM) Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Accessibility (IDEA) conference.

Together, we’re building a sustainable future for employers through health-minded employment initiatives for all Canadians. 💙
