Behind the Chutes: Meet Your 2026 CGRA Team Roping Director

Meet Cassidy Clark, your CGRA Team Roping Director 💙

A familiar face in and out of the arena, Cassidy is often found competing alongside her mom — continuing a long-standing family connection to the association and the sport.

As Team Roping Director, she helps ensure the event runs smoothly at each rodeo, supporting competitors and working alongside the team to keep things organized and on track.

When she’s not in the roping box, you can usually find her helping out behind the scenes, lending a hand wherever needed, or defending her title as the reigning CGRA Co****le Champion 🏆

We’re grateful to have her as part of the board and appreciate everything she brings to the team!

Behind the Chutes: Meet Your 2026 CGRA Cow Riding Director

Meet Lauren Mcarthur, serving as CGRA’s Cow Riding Director. 💙

From Exshaw, Alberta, she has been a CGRA member for many years, first joining after attending a rodeo in Cochrane where she met members who encouraged her to get involved in the association and try cow riding.

She went on to attend rodeo schools and continued competing until stepping back to support her child’s rodeo journey — making it a priority as they began steer riding. She later returned to the arena, spending time barrel racing and staying involved in the sport.

She became a director to get more involved, connect with members and have a voice in helping shape the association and its rules.

As Cow Riding Director, she helps oversee the event at rodeos, supporting competitors and helping ensure things run smoothly in the arena.

One of the things that stands out most in her journey is the people — building connections, getting to know others and being part of the CGRA community.

Outside of rodeo, she works casually as a nurse at Nunavik and is now mostly retired. These days, she enjoys a quieter pace of life — and, as she puts it, “hobby house cleaning and not good at it.”

We’re grateful for her years of involvement and the experience she brings to the cow riding event.

Behind the Chutes: Meet Your 2026 CGRA Goat Tying Director

Meet Matea Lloyd serving as CGRA’s Goat Tying Director. 💙

Based in the Foothills area near Okotoks, she has been involved with CGRA for as long as she can remember and has been serving on the board as goat tying director for 18 years this season.

Her involvement on the board began when her mentor at the time invited her to step in as the Junior Goat Tying Director, where she began learning what it takes to run the event in the arena. After a year, when her mentor stepped down, she took on the role for both the Open and Junior divisions — a position she has proudly held ever since. As Goat Tying Director, she is responsible for helping ensure the event runs smoothly at each rodeo, overseeing the setup in the arena and helping maintain fairness and consistency within the event.

One of her favorite parts of CGRA is watching the rodeo community grow and seeing competitors build lifelong friendships while cheering one another on as they reach their goals and push past their expectations. Standout memories for her include winning the Junior All Around alongside her mentor winning the Open All Around and in 2016 becoming the youngest recipient of CGRA Cowgirl of the Year.

Outside of CGRA, she owns her own massage clinic where she works as a Registered Massage Therapist and is also a stock contractor for goats. She enjoys helping athletes improve their overall well-being and often teaches goat tying clinics for younger competitors. When she’s not working or at rodeos, she enjoys traveling, reading and spending time riding her horses.

We’re grateful for her many years of dedication to CGRA and the goat tying event.

Behind the Chutes: Meet Your 2026 CGRA Tie Down & Breakaway Roping Director

Meet Jamie Pearce, serving as CGRA’s Tie Down and Breakaway Roping Director. 💙

She has been part of CGRA for many years, serving the association in a variety of roles on the board including President, Vice President, Past President and now in her current role as Breakaway and Tie Down Roping Director.

As a director, she helps ensure the roping events run smoothly at each rodeo, supporting competitors and helping maintain consistency and fairness within the events.

One of her favorite parts of CGRA is the friendships and fun that come with being part of the association, as well as the opportunity it provides to build and develop young horses in a supportive environment.

Outside of rodeo, she works as an Advanced Care Paramedic and stays busy running a ranch with her husband, caring for an assortment of animals, and spending time riding horses.

We’re grateful for her many years of leadership, experience and continued dedication to CGRA.

Behind the Chutes: Meet Your 2026 CGRA Public Relations & Special Events Director

Hi, I’m Megan Bergsveinson, the face behind CGRAs social media pages serving as CGRA’s 2026/27 Special Events and 2026 Public Relations Director 💙

I am based in Langham, Saskatchewan and have been a CGRA member for 11 years, spending about half of this time serving on the board in various roles.

As Special Events Director, I help plan and organize the CGRA Finals awards banquet and Saturday night activities, including the meal, entertainment and our new Co****le Tournament we introduced last year. I also assist with any additional special events that occur throughout the season such as our anniversary rodeos.

As Public Relations Director, I manage CGRA’s social media pages and create much of the content shared throughout the season and at finals. From designing graphics and templates to sharing results, promoting sponsors, highlighting competitors and keeping members informed - my goal is to help grow the association’s online presence and tell the stories happening both in and out of the arena.

Outside of the board, I compete in the cow riding event and love that CGRA is one of few associations that provide women with a place to showcase their talents at both ends of the arena. I work as a Respiratory Therapist at a children’s hospital, and when I’m not working or rodeoing, you’ll usually find me outdoors, eating ice cream or planning my next adventure — whether that’s traveling somewhere new, hiking, paddle boarding or capturing the moments behind the lens.

I’m grateful for the opportunity to be involved on the board and help shape the future of CGRA. I look forward to what this upcoming season has in store!

Behind the Chutes: Meet Your 2026/27 CGRA Awards Director

Meet Melissa Burton, serving as CGRA’s Awards Director 💙

Based in Stettler, Alberta, Melissa has been a CGRA member for 18 years and has spent many of those years serving the association in various board roles. She has dedicated roughly six years to the Awards Director position, helping ensure competitors are recognized for their accomplishments each season.

As Awards Director, Melissa works with the board to plan and coordinate year-end awards. From sourcing ideas and finding quality awards within budget to organizing and presenting them at finals, she plays an important role in celebrating the hard work of CGRA competitors.

Melissa originally joined the board because she wanted to help build and grow the association, while also staying involved and contributing to what was happening within CGRA.

One of her favorite parts of the association is the community. Over the years she has built many lasting friendships and countless memories with her CGRA family. A highlight for her each season is the Bowden Triathlon, known for bringing plenty of laughs and good times.

Outside of rodeo, Melissa works as a teacher and keeps busy on her acreage where she cares for a wide variety of animals. When she’s not in the arena or working, she enjoys riding horses in the mountains, curling, dancing, travelling and spending time with her “village” of friends and family. A fun fact you may not know about Melissa, she is also a dual Australian citizen!

We’re grateful for Melissa’s years of dedication and the work she continues to put into recognizing CGRA competitors each season.

Behind the Chutes: Meet Your 2026 CGRA Circuit Recorder

Meet Natasha Webb, serving as the CGRA Circuit Recorder 💙

A long-time board member who has served the association in multiple roles over the years, Natasha plays an important part in keeping CGRA competitions organized behind the scenes.

As Circuit Recorder, she is responsible for verifying and updating season standings following each rodeo and tracking points for year-end awards such as Horse of the Year and Rookie of the Year. Her work helps ensure results are accurate and that competitors’ season accomplishments are properly recorded throughout the season.

Beyond her board responsibilities, Natasha is also involved with helping host the Carstairs and Bowden rodeos, contributing to the success of events that help make up the CGRA season.

While Natasha doesn’t compete herself, both of her daughters Emma and Erika have been active competitors within the association and have also served on the board of directors.

We’re grateful for Natasha’s dedication and the many ways she and her family contribute to supporting the CGRA community.

Behind the Chutes: Meet Your 2026 CGRA Sponsorship Team

Next up, meet Kinlee, serving as your CGRA Sponsorship Director for Northern Alberta the other half of the team helping support CGRA’s sponsors.💙

Kinlee is currently in her second year on the CGRA Board of Directors and was honored as CGRA Cowgirl of the Year last season. As a competitor herself, she understands firsthand the work that goes into building and maintaining a strong rodeo association.

In her role as Sponsorship Director, Kinlee works to build relationships with businesses that support CGRA. She communicates with sponsors throughout the season and helps ensure they receive proper recognition for their contributions to the association.

Outside of her board role, Kinlee stays busy with her family on the ranch, and is often found at rodeos with her family cheering from the sidelines, with her oldest daughter competing in CGRA as well in the Little Cowgirls division — another board member raising the next generation of CGRA cowgirls.

Kinlee works alongside Stacey, who represents Southern Alberta, to help support sponsorship partnerships across the province.

We’re grateful for the time, energy and connections Kinlee brings to supporting CGRA and its sponsors.
