This is me, Miss Ana, in my happiest place next to home..my classroom .

This is where I teach and learn | a safe haven for all the mess one can make to ignite unique ideas.

This is where I pour my heart's passion for play | defined only by the children and no one else.

This is where our imaginations run wild | because learning tools come without predetermined functions.

This is where good things grow | a place where we acknowledge that learning is a unique and personal experience for each child.

I miss teaching sorely. I miss rediscovering with children the joy, excitement and mystery in the world we live in -- sharing their inborn sense of wonder. But right now, I take a pause so I can be present with our new bundle of joy. So that when the time comes, he too builds a sense of wonder so indestructible that it would last throughout his life.

Children are never too young for anything, unless we say so.

As adults, we tell ourselves that age is just a number. So why can't we do the same for our kids? Let's shift our adult mindsets from "age appropriate" to "my child appropriate". Why? Because our children are not generic. They are unique, thus their skills and needs are too -- if only we pay attention.

I encourage parents to listen to your children. Give them undivided attention. Stop interrupting them and inserting your ideas. Let them SHINE.

One of the lessons that the arts teach according to Elliot Eisner, professor of art education in Stanford University is that it helps children learn to say what cannot be said. When children are invited to disclose what a work of art helps them feel, they must reach into their poetic capacities to find the words that will do the job. Thus enabling us to have experiences to discover the range and variety of what we are capable of feeling.

It can be modest or significant. In many ways, choosing to contribute is selecting a path which is a role in itself. It is putting in exactly the same effort with the aim of knowing that you did what you could at any given moment.

Remember that your children know. They may not understand what it is or vocalize what it is, but they feel it.

Remember that they still need to play. Take this opportunity to give them undivided attention. Let them distract you from the anxiety that's surrounding us right now.

Remember that this is temporary. We will soon be back to our usual routine or might have a new routine. Your kids will miss the extra cuddles and the extra attention.

Just because children aren't pegged on a chair and table doesn't mean they aren't learning.

In our classroom, we ensure that we pay close attention to what the children are doing so we avoid interrupting what they're currently learning as well as what their brains are leading them into. Young children's brains, require, on average 5-7 years of healthy development to fully integrate; that is, for the parts of the brain to establish communication with each other.

Let them take their time. Play is one thing young children should know how to do really well, but they must have the necessary freedoms to ensure that play can occur. - excerpts from Rest, Play, Grow by Deborah MacNamara

Art evokes emotions. It's one if its super powers. Innate and undeniably true.

Create, let lose and let it all in. Let all expectations go. Be in the moment. Breathe.

W h a t d o w e m i s s a b o u t s p r i n g ?

The smell of freshly broken branches
The different scents of flowers
The different shapes of leaves
The colorful views

So we decided to bring a few floras to enjoy in class for some mindful flower pressing. We've forgotten what spring is like that some of us thought plants smell stinky! Peeewwww! @ Wymbin Yoga
