Conflict in Relationships

Conflict is normal, but unresolved conflict can damage emotional safety and intimacy. Repeated arguments may feel draining or hopeless.

Therapy helps couples learn respectful conflict-resolution skills, emotional regulation, and problem-solving strategies. This allows disagreements to become opportunities for growth rather than disconnection.

Our therapists are trained in the Gottman Method - considered the "gold-standard" in couples therapy and counselling.

What is rTMS and Why It Matters

Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS) is a non-invasive brain stimulation therapy that uses magnetic pulses to gently activate areas of the brain involved in mood regulation. Unlike medication, it targets neural circuits directly, helping support emotional regulation and cognitive function without sedation or systemic side effects.

Research using randomized, controlled designs shows rTMS can reduce symptoms of depression compared with placebo stimulation. In meta-analyses, patients receiving active rTMS consistently had greater improvement in mood scores than those receiving placebo treatment in major depression studies.

At Lawson Collab, we integrate rTMS into a comprehensive care plan tailored to each person’s needs — supporting stress response, emotional regulation, and healing alongside therapy.

Anxiety and Overthinking

Anxiety often shows up as constant worry, racing thoughts, tension, and difficulty relaxing. Over time, anxiety can interfere with sleep, focus, and confidence.

Therapy helps by teaching tools to challenge anxious thinking and calm the body. With guidance, people learn to respond to anxiety rather than letting it control decisions.

Trauma and the Nervous System

Trauma affects how the nervous system responds to safety and threat. It may result from accidents, abuse, loss, or chronic stress. Common signs include hypervigilance, emotional numbness, and feeling stuck in survival mode.

Trauma-informed therapy focuses on safety and regulation before processing experiences. Healing happens at a pace that respects each individual’s capacity.

Burnout and Emotional Exhaustion

Burnout develops after long periods of emotional and mental strain. It often shows up as fatigue, detachment, reduced motivation, and feeling emotionally drained. Burnout can affect work performance, relationships, and self-esteem.

Therapy helps individuals recognize burnout patterns, such as overworking, perfectionism, or difficulty resting. A therapist supports recovery by helping clients reconnect with their values, rebuild energy, and create sustainable routines that protect mental health. Therapy can support recovery when burnout starts to take over.

Understanding Stress

Stress is a normal response to pressure, change, or uncertainty, but when it becomes chronic it can affect mood, sleep, focus, and physical health. Many people live in a constant state of tension without realizing how much it is impacting their wellbeing. Over time, unmanaged stress can increase irritability, exhaustion, and emotional overwhelm.

Therapy helps by identifying stress triggers and teaching practical tools to regulate the nervous system. Through approaches such as cognitive behavioural therapy and mindfulness, people learn healthier coping strategies, boundary setting, and emotional regulation skills. Therapy does not eliminate stress, but it reduces its intensity and helps you respond with clarity rather than reactivity.

Support is available, and learning stress-management tools can make daily life feel more manageable.

Stress Management

Stress affects both the body and the mind, often in ways we don’t immediately notice. Prolonged stress can disrupt sleep, weaken the immune system, increase muscle tension, and impact focus, mood, and emotional regulation. Left unaddressed, it can gradually lead to burnout, anxiety, or depression. That’s why intentional stress management is essential - not just during challenging seasons, but year-round.

Mindfulness practices such as deep breathing, meditation, and grounding exercises help calm the nervous system and bring awareness back to the present moment. Self-care plays a vital role as well, whether through regular movement, proper rest, balanced nutrition, or setting healthy boundaries.

While these strategies are powerful, professional guidance can provide additional support. Therapy offers evidence-based tools to identify stressors, build resilience, and develop coping strategies tailored to your unique needs. Addressing stress early helps restore balance, protect your mental health, and improve overall well-being.
