Ear Reflexology / Auricular Therapy, Subtle and Powerful

The ears have a complete reflexion of the body, offering access to every system in a surprisingly gentle way.

Ear Reflexology can help ease pain, calm the mind, and restore clarity. It is especially helpful when the feet are injured and for people who are sensitive to have their feet touched, yet the effects ripple throughout the entire body.

I love how something so subtle can create such profound stillness. It is a reminder that the smallest gestures can bring the deepest peace.

Through the ears, we reach all body systems and the nervous system directly, supporting calm, emotional balance, and inner strength.

Ear Reflexology or Auricular Therapy is based on the idea that the body is mapped on to the ears as a micro system, just like on the hands and feet.

Visualizing the body on the ears is easily remembered as an image of the body in an inverted foetal shape. The lobe of the ear becomes the head, with the neck and entire spine extending up the curve of the outer ear.👂

A Reflexologist uses their fingers and thumbs to work all surfaces of the ear with a firm yet gentle pressure, squeezing the surface of the ear between thumb and finger, in small circular movements.👌

With ear reflexology there is also the addition of being able to apply an ear seed, to a specific point on the ear to further assist with pain management and issues in the body. This can actually be small black seeds from the Vaccaria plant, or small stainless steel and gold ball bearings or press spheres. 🌱

Auricular therapy has a long history from around 500 BC, and is the most scientific of the reflexology platforms.🥼

Ear Reflexology can be enjoyed as a stand alone treatment or combined in a session with other reflexology, and has the possibility of some rather phenomenal and rapid results. 🌟

Not all Reflexologists are trained to work on the ears, but if you find one in your area we highly recommend that you give it a try!

Here are some essential aftercare tips to maximise your treatment benefits and support your body’s natural healing process:

✨ Drink plenty of water over the next 24 hours to help flush away any toxins.

✨ Relax and avoid any strenuous activity or heavy exercise after your treatment to allow your body to rest and heal.

✨ Eat light, well balanced meals after your treatment and avoid anything too heavy.

✨ Avoid caffeine and alcohol for 24 hours after treatment to help with detoxification and to maintain the calming effects of your treatment.
