You know in my world, we tend to have a lot of conversations around the benefits or downfalls of diagnosis and labels.

For some people, finally finding out that there's a WORD for what they've been experiencing, that many others have similar experiences, it can be empowering. Having answers, forgiving one self, knowing how to get better with treatment, these make labels positive.

But for others, the label becomes their downfall, their identity in a negative way. It becomes limiting and makes their already small worlds even smaller. Sometimes their symptoms are even misdiagnosed, and they are inappropriately medicated and complete emotional f**kery ensues.

I like this cute little cartoon. To me it represents the positive side of having a label and unconditional self love.

It can be hard to accept that what once worked for us, for who we used to be, no longer does.

The other night in class my students and I talked about how as women we go through so many transitions and changes that require us to become someone new.

Often when women get depressed or anxious it's because of the resistance to growth and change, the resistance to becoming someone new. Who they were doesn't fit who they are now. The kids have moved out, they've aged and the world views them differently now, their romantic relationships didn't last as long as they thought, you get the idea. Heck, this may even be about you.

We have to experience growth til the day we die and that means letting go, feeling afraid, and rebecoming someone new.

I know this image is a little weird but I feel like it addresses an important topic, intergenerational trauma.

Intergenerational trauma is the idea that emotional wounds don’t always start with us, sometimes they are passed down through families in ways we don’t even realize. Patterns of anxiety, fear, silence, or survival can echo across generations, shaping how we see ourselves and experience our world. The encouraging part is this: when one person begins to heal, it can change the story going forward.

Recognizing that you may be experiencing intergenerational trauma can be the pattern interrupt. Focusing on healing and making efforts to connect with your highest purpose and truest sense of self can have a profound impact, break the cycle and a beautiful part of your legacy.

🌙✨ Spring Equinox Ritual: Rewire Your Mind, Reclaim Your Power ✨🌙

Today isn’t just the first day of spring.
It’s a threshold.

A moment where light and dark meet…
where what you’ve been carrying and who you’re ready to become stand side by side.

Remember how much our brains love ritual?

Take advantage of that today with a little self-hypnosis hypnosis, and a little witchy ritual...

✨ A simple Spring Equinox ritual to shift your subconscious ✨

Find a quiet space.
Light a candle if you can (or simply close your eyes).

Take a slow breath in… and out.

Now ask yourself:
👉 What am I ready to release?

Notice what comes up. Don’t overthink it. Is there a feeling attached to it? Where does this live in your body?

Then, imagine the inhale of your breathe wrapping itself around what you want to let go of and gently blow it into that flame.
Watching it soften… flicker… lose its hold on you.

Now gently shift.

👉 How would I rather feel?

Not what you “should” feel.
What you want.

Calm. Confident. Clear. In control. Peaceful.

Let yourself feel it, just for a moment.
Even if it’s small.

Then blow out the candle and watch what you let go of transform from a bright flame to dark smoke, weakly wafting up until it is nothing at all.

It's commonly known that our phones are negatively impacting our attention spans. I myself had to retrain my brain to read!

I have been a voracious reader since elementary school. Over the past few years I've noticed more and the struggle to pick up a book and DEVOUR it. Something I used to do with great pleasure, something I honestly preferred to do more than anything else. I thought listening to books was the answer, and did that with success for a period of time.

Am I the only one that's freaked out by the fact that our phones have shortened our attention spans so much so that reading books has become a dieing past time?

This is a bigger problem than most people realize. Reading Is One of the Best Things You Can Do for Your Brain and your mental health.

Reading isn’t just a way to pass time or learn something, it actually changes your brain in positive ways. When you read, your brain lights up in multiple areas at once memory, imagination, language, and emotional understanding. It's like a gentle workout for your mind.

Reading also calms the nervous system. When we settle into a book, our minds slow down and stress levels drop. It gives the brain a break from constant stimulation and worry.

Reading helps improve focus and attention, too. In a world full of scrolling and notifications, sitting with a book teaches the brain how to concentrate again.

It also helps us understand ourselves and other people better. Stories and ideas expand our perspective and build empathy. Sometimes a single paragraph can help us see something in a completely new way.

Reading strengthens memory and mental sharpness, and people who read regularly often maintain stronger cognitive function as they age.

But maybe the most beautiful thing about reading is that it gives the mind a healthy place to go. Not to escape life but to recharge so we can come back clearer and stronger.

Even a few pages a day can make a difference. Start small, read poetry, an article in a magazine....

Put your phone down and pick up a book. It's the ultimate self care!

A common theme we see in therapy is an overall sense of shame. Shame for the things that happened to us, shame that the people who were meant to protect is didn't think we were worth it. Shame that we allowed it all to happen.

Often in therapy there is a goal of forgiveness, that it's necessary to heal and move forward.

I don't believe that. Instead, I believe there is power in releasing the shame. Rebuilding the sense of self that was taken from us.

Rebecoming.

I realized the other day that in my career I've been blessed with the trust of over 5000 women. Women who tried everything and thought hypnotherapy was their last desperate resort, their last hope.

Those women who trusted me taught me about the shame, theirs and mine. The work we did together was powerful and healing, not just for them, my gratitude for being trusted to be a part of it helped me grow too.

When we reconnect with our truest self, that shame can begin to loosen and fall away. Not because the past changes, but because we can finally meet and accept ourselves with compassion instead of judgment.

Our Story

Hypnotherapy has been around for centuries, it has been studied extensively, it has been depicted in movies and hypnosis itself has been used for entertainment in the form of stage shows. Many forms of therapy utilize hypnosis without actually calling it hypnosis for fear of frightening away those who could benefit from it. Many are surprised to learn that in fact, most major hospitals have someone trained in Hypnotherapy on staff. However it is an unregulated industry, many insufficiently trained Hypnotherapists hang up shingles and take the hard earned money of those desperate for relief or a cure. When the suggestion to try it was first introduced to me, I thought it was pretty weird and reluctantly agreed to attempt a few sessions in the hopes of relief for my own anxiety disorder. Upon recognizing that it actually helped I began this journey of education and discovery; why did it work, how did it work? Eventually I came to the realization that helping people recover from anxiety, depression, PTSD, complex PTSD and any other subconscious obstacles preventing them from becoming their happiest, best selves was indeed my true calling. For over 8 years I have been doing exactly that.

So how does this work? How do I work? In addition to various psychotherapy approaches, Clinical Hypnotherapy can help you rehabilitate your brain, helping calm overactive areas of the brain and activate the areas that are under firing in turn encouraging new neural connections. I focus on the concept of “neuro-plasticity,” which means your neurons can create new pathways of communication, the more relaxed the brain is, the more plastic your brain is. This can help you develop new habits, new ways of thinking and feeling, the ability to make better decisions, and to reduce or alleviate addictive tendencies.

I have trained with some of the world's leading Neuro-Psychotherapy, Hypnotherapy and Meditation Instructors, some as far away as Australia. My training is continuous, learning new techniques as new discoveries are made fuels my passion for what I do. Most of my clients are referred to me via word of mouth, because when you finally find that "thing" that changes your life in such a profound way you tell your friends.
