The women's health handbook you've been looking for is here.

Join me in celebrating the launch of She Thrives. Women’s health practitioners, wellness professionals, and women with lived experience have united fronts to share 22 stories of navigating health, hormones and healing. 🌸

With a beautiful blend of wisdom and story, compassionate education, and handy dandy tools, this book is designed to be a guiding light for women in all ages and stages. 💫

It all started with a vision fuelled by passion and purpose. Heather Andrews, health care provider and publisher, saw the gaps in the healthcare system, from knowledge deficit to dismissals, to misdiagnoses, that often leads women to frustration, confusion, and sadly, loss of hope for their health. 😔

Heather made it her mission to gather professionals in all areas of wellness, from nutrition, chiropractic, kinesiology, integrative and functional medicine, mental health and so much more, to better serve women. 🫶

And so it came to life. Your holistic handbook at your fingertips. Use this post as another wink from the universe that women’s health is evolving for the better. 😉

In this Alberta-based anthology, expect to go deeper on topics like burnout, exercise, breast health, menopause, epilepsy, and the aftermath of narcissistic abuse.

Context: Kiddos legs are getting tired and I think about piggy backing her to offer her body a break.

Inner dialogue:

“Are you going to be able to carry her? Well, it doesn’t hurt to try.”

*picks up 10 year old*

“Oh, I’m stronger than I thought, I can do this.”

*proceeds to walk*

“I wonder how long I can do this. Oh crap, is that an incline coming up? Maybe I should put her down.”

Kiddo: “You can put me down if this is too much.”

“Nope, we’re going to do this together!”

*gets to top of the hill with ease”

Kiddo: “Woah you’re strong!”

“Thank you. We did it! And you’re making me stronger!”

It was in that moment I thought about all the simple and what some people would call “boring” things we do in the gym that help us train for moments like this.

The lunges, step ups, farmers carry, squats…

For me, lifting weights isn’t able training to be jacked or “toned”. It’s about training for life.

To move with ease, lightness and strength.

To have a pep in my step.

To move and make memories that make me say “remember when we did this” instead remembering what I wish I could’ve been able to do or the body pain that stopped me from being a engaged human being.

Train for the moment 🥰
