š§ SWOLLEN FEET? Let's Talk EDEMA.
Your feet and ankles are puffier than usual. You press your thumb into the skin and... it leaves an indent. That's edemaāfluid buildup in your tissues.
**What causes it?**
- Sitting or standing too long
- Heart, kidney, or liver conditions
- Pregnancy
- Certain medications
- Lymphatic system issues
- Circulation problems
**Here's the thing:** Not all swelling is the same. Some is temporary (hello, long flights!). But persistent swelling needs attention because it can lead to skin breakdown and infection.
**What you can do:**
ā Elevate your feet above heart level
ā Move around regularly
ā Wear compression socks
ā Reduce salt intake
ā Stay hydrated
If your swelling doesn't improve in a few days or gets worse, get it checked. We assess for edema at every appointment and can spot warning signs early.
Your feet deserve proper care. Let's keep them healthy. š
