"I once told a room full of people seeking weight loss ""secrets"" that I weigh 165 lbs (today, I’m 170). The silence was deafening.

In their heads, 170 was a failure. In my life, it is the physical evidence of my survival.

The scale is just a sensor for mass. It doesn’t know the difference between muscle, hydration, or the inflammation your body uses to protect you. It doesn't know that I built this ""strength bank"" in my 20s so I’d have a foundation to draw from when life threw me curveballs.

This 170 lb body has survived the ICU, a stem cell transplant, menopause at 27, and the current rollercoaster of IVF. It also teaches 30 cycle classes a month.

I am strong. I am sometimes bloated. I am currently craving all the potatoes. And I am the happiest I have ever been.
