Here’s 3 useful tips from TCM that can help reduce the frequency of your headaches and migraines during sudden weather changes 👇

1️⃣ Keep the back of your neck covered, especially after leaving the gym. After the gym, your pores are open, your neck is sweaty, and your nervous system is already stimulated. Cold air hitting the back of your neck can trigger muscle tightening, blood vessel constriction, and nerve irritation.

2️⃣ Keep your blood sugar levels regulated. Making sure you aren’t consistently spiking or dropping your blood sugar levels, reduces the frequency of headaches.

3️⃣ Use acupressure on LI4, located between your thumb and forefinger. This is a great point to help reduce pain levels and reduce headache length.

If you struggle with frequent headaches or migraines, I treat them all the time with great success. Message me to book a consultation!

Have you ever missed work because of your period pain? Did you know that in Traditional Chinese Medicine, period pain is considered not normal? Here’s some useful tips from TCM to help reduce your period pain this month 👇

1️⃣ Avoid ice water, cold foods, raw uncooked vegetables 🥕 🧊 Ditch those morning smoothies.

2️⃣ Prioritize warmth. Warm soups, broths, and cooked foods. Warmth ensures adequate circulation to the uterus and helps keep blood flowing smoothly.

3️⃣ Avoid walking on cold floors barefoot. It sounds silly, but keeping your feet warm is a great way to reduce period pain.

4️⃣ If these tips don’t work, Chinese herbal medicine is the missing link. Herbal medicine is extremely effective in eliminating period pain long term.

1️⃣ Treat the pattern, not the label.
Endo and PCOS aren’t one disease in Chinese medicine. They show up as patterns like blood stasis, phlegm-damp, liver constraint, or kidney deficiency.

2️⃣ Regulate your cycle before chasing hormones.
Reduce pain, normalize bleeding, support ovulation, and calm PMS first.

3️⃣ Use herbs to change tissue, not just symptoms.

Consistent formulas support circulation, inflammation, insulin sensitivity, and ovarian function over time.

4️⃣ Eat for blood flow and insulin stability.
Prioritize warm, cooked meals, enough protein, and stable blood sugar, especially in the luteal phase.

5️⃣ Match treatment to your cycle phases.
Each phase has different needs. Using the same herbs all month often slows progress.

6️⃣ Track outcomes that matter.
Pain, clotting, ovulation signs, sleep, cravings, and mood changes tell you more than labs alone.

7️⃣ Commit to a realistic timeline.
Meaningful change usually happens over 3–4 cycles, not 30 days.

This is a great video explaining the nuances of treating hot flashes and how the diagnosis of Yin Vacuity is massively over diagnosed.

In TCM we are often taught that menopausal hot flashes are due to Kidney Yin vacuity. This is overly simplistic. KD Yin vacuity is part of a continuum that b...
