EdMedSoc is introducing an exciting new opportunity for 1st and 2nd years perfect for potentially scoring extra marks in tripos and building your CV! Please see the below for more info!

EdMedSoc is excited to announce the introduction of a new programme this year: providing virtual lectures to 1st and 2nd years! (3rd years don’t feel left out! You will have a separate pre-existing programme run by Dr Ah-See, the Part II Clinical Supervision scheme!)
These 1 hour sessions will be delivered by clinical students via zoom every Friday 5-6pm (except week 1 Michaelmas and week 8 Lent), and will cover various topics which have been carefully planned to compliment your pre-clinical studies, providing clinical perspectives, as well as touching on other interesting subjects including securing publication opportunities and improving your CV/portfolio! A fantastic chance to increase your out-of-spec knowledge, perfect to get those extra marks in tripos exams!

Line up for Michaelmas (subject to change due to changes to clinical placements, email and Facebook notification will be sent out in advance)

β€’ Week 2 – Emergencies
β€’ Week 3 – Diabetes
β€’ Week 4 – Shoulder pain
β€’ Week 5 – Thyroid physiology and pathology
β€’ Week 6 – Potassium handling
β€’ Week 7 – Arterial Blood Gases and their relevance in clinical practice
β€’ Week 8 – ECGs and the physiology of the heart
Lent term sessions are still in discussion, but confirmed topics include securing publications and improving CV portfolios, abdominal pain, all the FAB you need for surgery and more!

There is no need to commit to all 7 sessions, nor is there a sign up form for a mailing list. The invite links will be sent out to everyone on the Monday before the session and just turn up to the ones you’re interested in and fill in the feedback form for a chance to win a Β£10 Amazon voucher!
Recordings are only available if the speaker gives permission, and access to these will be provided.
