Alyssa is a Registered Practical Nurse with extensive clinical experience spanning retirement and long-term care, palliative care, rehabilitation, wound care, community nursing, and the hospital settings. Practicing since 2014, she brings a well-rounded and knowledgeable approach to care. In 2026, she achieved her Advanced Foot Care Nurse certification, expanding her scope of practice to include specialized foot care services.
Alyssa is passionate about providing care that is comfortable, dignified, and compassionate. She strongly believes in educating patients as part of their care, helping them maintain mobility, independence, and overall quality of life while going the STEP ABOVE!

We’re so excited to welcome Leza, a Registered Practical Nurse with 10 years of experience, to A Step Above – FootCare!

Leza holds an Advanced Foot Care certificate and has additional training in diabetic foot care, advanced wound care, and dementia studies. With experience in Long-Term Care, VON Wound Care Champion, Director of Wellness, and Foot Care Nursing, she brings incredible skills and compassion to our clinic.

Leza will be providing Nursing Foot Care and Wound Care to our patients.
Outside of work, she loves spending time with her family, her four dogs 🐕 and eight chickens 🐓💛

What an incredible first day of our Orthotic Clinic in collaboration with Chiropodist Al from Step by Step Orthotic, Mobility & Gait Center👣✨

I learned so much today about gait, mobility, and how we can better support our patients with complex foot issues. Al shared amazing insights that will help the A Step Above team treat these cases even more efficiently moving forward.

Even more exciting — a few patients left the clinic already walking better today! 🙌 Their custom orthotics will arrive in a few weeks, making it even easier for them to move around and stay active in our community.
