TESTIMONY TUESDAY ⬇️
I started the GPN nutrition program and coming to CrossFit classes in January 2020. As a nurse, I was making bad decisions/choices in food at work during both day and night shifts. I was at my heaviest weight I had ever been at, my clothes didn’t fit, I didn’t feel great both mentally and physically. I was frustrated with myself in being unable to be better with food and exercise. I worked out daily but half heartedly and ran once in while. I saw an advertisement and on a whim I decided to see what camrose CrossFit was all about. It turns out that whim was one of the best things I did! This nutrition program in conjunction with my daily online CrossFit workouts have made me feel and look my best. It’s helped me work through many of my food hang ups and taught me what my mind and body need to be healthy, feel good, and be my best self. It’s taught me about food prep and good sleeping habits. I’ve learned that for me and my body, lots of protein, fruit and veggies are what help me feel my best. One of the biggest things I’ve learned is to not feel guilty when I have a bad eating moment/day. Instead I accept that it happened and the next day I focus on making good food choices, doing my workout and try to look at the big picture and not beat myself up. I continue to follow all the things I’ve learned through this program while I also continue to be a “work in progress”. I’m proud of what this program/coaches have helped me achieve which is a physically and mentally stronger, healthier, happy version of myself who has learned a lot about herself through this journey.

You guys know how LITTLE we care about the scale, and weight (pretty much zero🙃), but we do like to celebrate hard work, and sometimes the scale DOES reflect the effort, and, YAY!

The other BIG things we LOVE to celebrate are:
✅lab work is the best it’s ever been
✅feels confident and happy with what she sees in the mirror
✅feels strong in the gym
✅has a really good relationship with food
✅has learned how to plan and prep
✅has been able to focus on relationships while working on her own health

Ps. Don’t fool yourself into thinking this only took a few months…

Have you tried nutritional yeast before?

This is a magical thing that adds a nutty, savoury, and almost cheesy flavour to whatever you put it on. It's a fantastic non-dairy option for those who are sensitive to dairy, but still enjoy a bit of cheesy flavour.

Fortified nutritional yeast can add protein, vitamins (mainly B vitamins), antioxidants, and minerals to your favorite movie night snack, and is a vast improvement on traditional popcorn spices.

Crock pots hold a special place in my heart. Anything you can just push a button, walk away, and have them magically do their thing so you can eat good food when you come.... that is love.
