Winter and your sluggish digestive fire, Agni.

In Ayurveda, your digestive fire, Agni, slows down, so you begin to feel heavy, low energy and perhaps experience more bloating.

The cold, damp weather slows down our metabolism. As Agni weakens the food you eat, digests more slowly, making you feel fatigue, sluggish and you may experience stubborn weight gain.

The Ayurveda fix:
Drink warm liquids - tea, soup
Eat cooked meals - no raw foods
Use warming spices like ginger, cinnamon and black pepper
Gentle movement - walking, yoga, dry brushing

These simple fixes will keep Agni strong.

Cold hands. Scattered thoughts. Sleepless nights.

Vata dosha, constitution, is out of balance and is whispering to you to pay attention and nourish Vata.

Ever notice how cooler, drier weather makes your mind race, sleep feel lighter, and skin turn dry?

That’s Vata gently rising, Ayurveda’s way of saying your body has shifted into air + space mode.

When Vata goes out of balance, it can show up as:
• anxiety & restlessness
• dry skin
• bloating or constipation
• light, broken sleep

A few simple, grounding rituals can bring everything back into harmony:
✔️ Choose warm, cooked, slightly oily meals (think soups, stews)
✔️ Sip warm water or herbal teas instead of cold drinks/smoothies
✔️ Sleep early and take extra time to wind down before bed
✔️ Try a gentle massage prior to going to sleep. Massage your feet with warm sesame or almond oil. This feels like a warm hug for your nervous system
✔️ Keep your routine steady (Vata loves consistency and a routine)

Ayurveda reminds us: balance doesn’t require big changes but mindful, consistent ones.

So if your thoughts are flying faster than your to-do list, it may be time to ground your Vata and invite calm back in.
