Whisperwood Villa is a privately owned Nursing Care and Community Care home located at 160 St. We offer this combined service to provide our residents with progressive levels of care as needed over time, from self-sufficient apartments, to assisted living care to full Nursing Care. It has become the hallmark of our services to the elderly and allowed us to create a compassionate and supportive social community where staff in all departments work together toward a common goal, the well being of the resident and peace of mind to family. Whisperwood Villa will never be able to replace your real home, the one you are leaving, the source of memories you hold dear. We will make every effort not only to give you the care you need but also opportunity for new experiences, activities and relationships that we hope will make you feel welcome in your new home. We encourage you to bring your favourite furniture, pictures and other personal items. It’s your space and we want you to make it your own and be as comfortable as you wish. To ensure your comfort, we are able to provide any additional furniture you may require.

Every fall, we gather for a very special occasion: our annual Volunteer Appreciation Dinner. This event is dedicated to expressing our gratitude to all the wonderful volunteers who devote their time, energy, and talents to enrich the lives of our residents here at Whisperwood Villa.

You are the heart and soul of so many of our programs, from assisting with daily activities, providing spiritual care, entertainment and companionship. Your contributions create a tangible difference in the day-to-day lives of our residents, bringing joy, connection, and a sense of belonging. This dinner is our small way of saying a very big "thank you" for all that you do.

We would also like to express gratitude to all of the staff members from various departments who collaborated to make this event possible.

Whisperwood Villa 1920s Party!

Big shout out to the members of the Charlottetown Jazz Ensemble! What a band! They played only songs from the 20s and teleported all of us back to the roarin' twenties!

Do you know a staff member who goes above and beyond to help residents or families?

Why not nominate them for the upcoming excellence in person-centered care award that will be given out on October 29th at the upcoming Long Term Care conference!

Person Centered Care means:
- Treating residents as individuals

- Working with residents to help them make decisions and manage their health

- Forming trusting and supportive relationships with residents

- Considering residents’ needs, wishes, values, family dynamic, social circumstance and lifestyles

- Being compassionate and respectful

-Engaging in activities with residents

- Providing residents with information

The selection panel will consider the impact the nominee has had on the residents and how long they have excelled at person-centered care.

The nominations forms can be found at the reception desk. The forms will be completed and sealed in an envelope to be reviewed by the panel. Closing date is October 10th, 2025.
