It all comes down to your horses protein needs. If you are feeding a horse that is breeding, training or showing, they would probably benefit from the higher protein levels of the Alfalfa Cubes.

For a horse that is needing more of a maintenance diet without higher protein needs, we recommend the Timothy Alfalfa Cubes.

We've heard and can appreciate all the arguments both for and against blankets, and think as long as your horse has consistent access to high quality, appropriate forage, they are probably much less bothered by the cold weather than we are ❄❄❄

Winter feeding doesn’t have to be stressful!

Horses have evolved to cope with a wide range of climates and can usually handle winters quite well, as long as they are provided with a few key things.

With additional calories, high quality long stem forage, 24/7 access to clean unfrozen water, and a dry shelter to get out of the wind, most horses will do very well.

For winter feeding we recommend utlizing the Greenway hay cubes as a hay replacement or supplement, as the long stem fibers that make up the cubes will help your horse generate body heat during digestion.

Dealing with heaves this year?

This chronic respiratory condition can be hard on our older horses (and us as their caregivers) and that is why offering a dust free forage is imperative to management of the condition.

At Greenway our hay cubes are not only of premium nutrient levels but also are dust and mould free, so you can rest assured knowing your senior citizen is getting the best forage possible for them.
