I am speaking on Wednesday for anyone who might be interested...

Our next Living Despite meeting will be Wednesday, April 22nd from 1:00 - 2:30 PM at the Vernon Public Library

We will be having Terrylynn Bailleul from Lighthouse Support Services . She is trained as a personal care assistant (nurses aid, care aid) with several years experience in this field as well as being her husbands care support for the past 10 years.

She will be talking to us about her story as being a Caregiver for her husband Jeremy (who is also her business partner) and how this inspired them to start a Caregiving Support Business helping others.

She will also be talking how we can have capacity for those with chronic health conditions and caregivers, the physical and emotional effects these have on us and habits that both help and hinder in the process

We hope that you can join us for this unique lived experience with the bird's eye view from a caregiver also

Just need a little help and support around the house? A little bit of care?

We are offering Home Support Services for families who just need a little hand... alot can be included in this service!

2 Visits a day -- 1 hour in the mornings -- 1 hour in the afternoons/ evenings $55/ day

2 Visits a day -- 30 min in the mornings -- 30 min in the aftrnoon/ evenings -- $40/ day

These visits can include the following; Assistance with bathing, medicine reminders, going for a walk, meal prep, light housework, bed changes.

My husband Jeremy has classes starting back up April 8th @ DEEM these classes were developed for Parkinsons. However they are excellent for anyone struggling with mobility challenges. Please read information below!

Hello Everyone,

I am excited to announce a new 6-week fitness program specifically designed for our community! Starting Wednesday, April 8th, I will be leading a Parkinson’s Moves series to help us focus on the "big" movements that are so vital for managing Parkinson’s symptoms & helping to maintain mobility.

Based on PWR! Moves is a research-based program that targets the four skills most often affected by PD: posture, weight shifting, trunk rotation, and transitions. Our goal is to move with more power and confidence in our everyday lives.

Program Details:

Dates: Mondays and Wednesdays for 6 weeks, starting April 8th.

Time: 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM (1 hour total).

Cost: $204 for the full 12-class series. If you are unable to attend all classes talk to Mikkie at Deem or to Jeremy.

What to Expect Each Week:

We have designed a balanced, high-impact hour to ensure you get the most out of every session:


Mondays:

Warm-up: To get the body ready for movement.

PWR! Moves (35 min): Focused, high-effort exercises to improve mobility and strength.

Functional Walking (10 min): Applying our "big" movements to a steady gait.

Cool Down (5–10 min): Gentle stretching to lower heart rate and improve flexibility.



Wednesdays:

Warm up

Moves

Cardio work on any cardio machine

Whether you are looking to improve your balance, reduce stiffness, or simply enjoy some socially supported exercise, I would love to have you join us.
