Get to know the herbs we use!
Here we have the illustrious and powerful Ginger root (𝘡𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘪𝘣𝘦𝘳 𝘰𝘧𝘧𝘪𝘤𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘭𝘦).
The best-known therapeutic application of this spice is as a treatment for motion sickness, a use well documented in the research literature. Ginger also effectively stimulates peripheral circulation, making it effective for bad circulation, chilblains, and cramps.
Ginger has been used around the world as an aromatic carminative (stomach soothing) and pungent appetite stimulant. In India and other countries with hot and humid climates, ginger is eaten daily and is a well-known remedy for digestive problems. It is popular not only for its flavor, but also because its antioxidant and antimicrobial properties help to preserve food, an essential action in such climates.
Research indicates that ginger root enhances immune function, promotes the secretion of bile and gastric fluids, and increases blood circulation by inhibiting platelet aggregation. It is a potent anti-inflammatory, and studies show it is as effective as ibuprofen for reducing the pain and inflammation associated with arthritis. Fresh ginger is also a potent antiviral and antibacterial, helpful for treating influenza, the common cold, and both bacterial and viral gastroenteritis.
You can find Ginger root in our Soothe blend, where it is used for its phlegm resolving and lung warming effect, and in our Settle tea, where it's stomach soothing, nausea relieving and bloating abolishing effects are utilized and highlighted.
