🔐 October is Cyber Security Awareness Month.

Online scams and identity theft can target anyone, especially older adults.

Digital identity theft is when someone uses your personal information to create fake profiles and/or accounts on social media or websites.

Protect yourself online by:
• Changing passwords often and make them hard to guess
• Avoid posting personal information online
• Avoid online shopping or banking on unsecure public Wi-Fi
• Completely wipe your devices before selling or disposing of it

If you suspect that your digital identity has been stolen, report a possible case to the social media provider or website owner using their help centre.
