For over five years, I have worked with Spirit as a medium, offering inspirational talks and evidence of life after death, bringing peace and validation to those seeking connection. As an ordained Metaphysical Minister with the Canadian International Metaphysical Ministry and a licensed Wedding Officiant in Ontario, I officiate weddings, funerals, celebration of life ceremonies, baby namings, and other meaningful rites of passage. Tomorrow is the 10th anniversary of my mother's passing. The ache is still there, and if the doorbell rings on a Sunday night, I still catch myself thinking "that's mom come for a tea", and the ache is even greater. Grief never really goes away, and time doesn't really heal all wounds. Time just teaches us to live with the wound as best we can.

When we lost my mom, my dad was never the same. They were married for 57 years, and I think a big part of him died with her. He would visit the cemetery every day, regardless of the weather. He would sit in his chair with an umbrella if it was raining or snowing, and play her favourite music. He passed four years ago this year, but the day before he died, he said his biggest hope was to cross the bridge to wherever she is so they could be together again, for eternity. I know they walk in endless sunshine, hand in hand.
