𝗛𝗮𝗽𝗽𝘆 𝟱𝟱𝘁𝗵 𝗕𝗶𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗟𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗲!

Today, we celebrate our beautiful Lonnie on what would have been her 55th birthday, an age she proudly declared was “way cooler sounding than 54.”

So in her honour, let’s each take a moment to celebrate her in our own way.

Whether it’s a smile you let rise just for her,
a memory you hold close,
a song you play,
a kindness you offer,
or simply a breath of gratitude for the light she brought into this world.

She is missed, she is loved, and she is still so very present in the hearts she touched.

𝑳𝒐𝒏𝒏𝒊𝒆’𝒔 𝑶𝒏𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒆 𝑺𝒉𝒂𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑪𝒊𝒓𝒄𝒍𝒆

During the Celebration of Life, we held a sharing circle where those gathered in person were able to speak from the heart about Lonnie, memories, lessons, laughter, love. We know that many of you joined us online and didn’t have the chance to take part, so we wanted to open this space for you as well.
And if you were with us in Creston, you’re still more than welcome to add your voice here too.

You’re invited to share in whatever way feels true for you:
a video,
a written story or memory,
a teaching or lesson Lonnie left with you,
or simply the essence of who she was to you.

There is no right or wrong way to do this.

Lonnie valued honesty, real emotion, and the kind of genuine sharing that comes straight from the soul, not polished, not perfect, just true. That’s what this space is for.

To begin, we’ll start with Lexi and her beautiful share.

We wanted to share a few notes from the family that were placed at the guestbook table during Lonnie’s Celebration of Life: a letter from her sister Dena, a letter from her daughter Emiko, and a poem written by her mom, Carol. These were created with so much love, and we know many of you will feel the heart behind their words.

Thank you, truly, to the huge number of people who joined us online. Your presence from afar meant so much, and we felt you with us.

My sincerest apologies for the technical difficulties that left you out of some portions.

Here is the song that Lexi sang for us.
It carried a lot of meaning today, because Lonnie listened to this very song on her last day before her transition. It was something that held her gently in those final hours, softening the space around her, wrapping her in comfort, and meeting her exactly where she was.

We wanted to make sure you could hear it too, so you could share in that moment with us, and with her.

Thank you again for being part of this day, in whatever way you were able. Lonnie’s love was felt, near, far, and everywhere in between.💗

𝗖𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗟𝗶𝗳𝗲

We would like to share the information for Lonnie’s Creston Celebration of Life, and invite everyone who loved her to gather in her honour. Please share far and wide for those not on FB.

📅𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗻: Sunday, December 7th at 1:00pm

𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗯𝗲 𝗮 𝗽𝗼𝘁𝗹𝘂𝗰𝗸, 𝘀𝗼 𝗽𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝘀𝗻𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗼𝗿 𝗯𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂’𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲, along with a serving spoon if needed.

❤️ 𝗔 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗥𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗟𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗲
In her final months, Lonnie found deep comfort in a book that encouraged wearing red as a way to welcome joy into your life. She took this to heart and bought herself a beautiful pair of red boots, which brought her so much joy. (I’ll include a photo of them.) It was Lonnie's request for us all to wear red to celebrate her, we would love for everyone to honour this request by wearing 𝑠𝑜𝑚𝑒𝑡ℎ𝑖𝑛𝑔 red. It doesn’t need to be much, anything from a scarf to shoes, a purse, a sweater, or even red nails. Whatever you can manage is perfect.

𝗔 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲 𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲
The celebration will be held in an indoor horse arena, just as Lonnie wished. This space can be quite cold, so please 𝑑𝑟𝑒𝑠𝑠 𝑤𝑎𝑟𝑚𝑙𝑦!

If anyone has 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗲 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗿 𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲𝘀 they are willing to lend for the afternoon, we would be incredibly grateful.

G'morning,

As we each navigate the weight and tenderness of these days, we want to offer a moment of softness here.

Please enjoy these photos of our beautiful Lonnie, one of her sweetest wishes was to have a fairy photoshoot, and these images carry her magic, her light, and the childlike wonder she never lost. May they bring a breath, a smile, or even a gentle release to your heart.

If you are feeling alone, overwhelmed, or held by grief in ways that feel too heavy to carry alone, please lean on one another. Lonnies community was built on a foundation of love, and that love remains.

We are all walking through this together, and Lonnie’s spirit, soft, bright, and full of mischief, continues to deliver us into each other’s care.
