Their stories matter. 💜
This International Women’s Day, we celebrate the strength, resilience, and leadership of women in our community. At Step Forward Health Society, we are committed to creating spaces where women feel supported, empowered, and heard.
Through our programs, we work to support women at many stages of life:
• When Love Hurts – a free, trauma-informed online group offering women experiencing intimate partner violence a confidential space to heal and rebuild.
• Pain in the Arts – a creative program that blends art, identity exploration, and chronic pain education, especially meaningful as chronic pain disproportionately affects women.
• MenTOR – supporting men in developing emotional insight, addressing trauma, and building healthier relationship patterns—an important step in addressing the root causes of gender-based violence.
• 2SLGBTQIA+ Youth Mental Health Group – an inclusive, affirming space where young people of all genders can find connection, resilience, and support.
• 140 Sports Program – partnering with youth sports organizations, coaches, and parents to strengthen mental health and emotional wellbeing in athletes, particularly supporting young women navigating the pressures of adolescence.
Together, these programs help build a future where women are safe, supported, and empowered to thrive.
