A clinical study found that topical application of lemongrass essential oil every day for 30 days significantly decreased pain associated with rheumatoid arthritis. Pain levels gradually decreased over the course of 30 days, decreasing from an average of 8 on a scale of 1 to 10 to 5 at the end of the study.
