Pink Shirt Day, also known as Anti-Bullying Day, raises awareness about bullying in schools, workplaces, at home and online.

We wear pink today to take a stand against bullying and let people know they are not alone.

Assist someone today by listening to their experience, help them find resources or support, or go with them to report the bullying. Every little action helps!

There's two opportunities for the young people in your life to join us and make their own mandala style painting! One in the morning and one in the afternoon.

Bring your youths to join Michelle, a Certified Therapeutic Art Life Coach (only one of her many qualifications!), to play with paint and designs to create a beautiful, therapeutic piece to take home.

You can use the receipts from this workshop as child care receipts in your personal income tax returns for 2026. To learn more visit artfulwares.ca and check out our class page!

Private wheel lessons

Stay tuned for March dates! :)

Message us to book a time, we do not get notifications for comments so it is much more effective to private message. If you have more than 4 people in your group we can also discuss how to accommodate everyone. If you don't see anything that works for your schedule contact us, we might be able to squeeze you in a time that isn't listed.

Frequently asked questions about our private wheel lessons:

How many people will be there?
Normally only the instructor and your group will be present during class. Occasionally other studio members might be working on their own pottery, or people will drop in to pick up their finished work during the time you are here but the only people in the class are you and your group.

How many pieces do we make, and how many do we keep?
Average participants make about 6 or more pots each, usually a few bowls and maybe a cup or a plate. You can keep all of them. They will be dried and fired to be food, microwave and dishwasher safe.

How much clay are we allowed?
The clay is unlimited, you can use as much as you need in the 90 minutes, and we recycle any clay from flopped pots so you aren't wasting anything. We make the balls in sizes that are appropriate for beginners.

What age do you recommend for these classes?
Private wheel lessons are for all ages, we've had as young as 5 year old successfully throw their first pots (with a little help) and they have a blast. It is a great family activity. No experience is necessary.

What happens to the pots after we leave?
You will choose a colour of glaze for each piece to be dunked in. We have a variety of colours available, and you can have a different colour on each piece. After a few days of drying we clean the bottom of your pots, make sure they are smooth and sign your name on them. After first kiln firing they are glazed and fired again.

How long does it take to get pots fired and bring them home?
Usually around 4-5 weeks, depending on the weather. Moist and humid days slow down the drying a lot. We will contact you to arrange pick up when they are finished. We do our best to handle your work as gently and carefully as possible, occasionally pieces will get small cracks in the drying process but they still make lovely soap dishes, key holders, planters, etc. :D
