Scars require consistency and patience. 💫

🩺 Chondrodermatitis nodularis helicis — quite a name for a small but very painful lesion! 😣

It’s a benign condition often caused by chronic pressure, like sleeping on one side or friction from headwear. But UV damage also plays an important role in its formation. ☀️

Unlike it, basal cell carcinoma (skin cancer) is definitely a result of sun exposure — another reason why sunscreen is not just for your face! Don’t forget your ears, neck, and all exposed areas every single day. 🧴

🩺 Chondrodermatite nodulaire de l’hélix — un nom bien compliqué pour une petite lésion… mais très douloureuse ! 😣

C’est une lésion bénigne souvent causée par une pression chronique, comme dormir toujours du même côté ou le frottement d’un couvre-chef. Cependant, les rayons UV jouent aussi un rôle important dans son apparition. ☀️

À la différence de celle-ci, le carcinome basocellulaire (cancer de la peau) est directement lié à l’exposition au soleil — une autre raison de mettre de la crème solaire pas seulement sur le visage, mais aussi sur les oreilles, le cou et toutes les zones exposées chaque jour. 🧴👂

Ichthyosis comes from the Ancient Greek word for fish — and that’s because the skin can look like fish scales when it becomes extremely dry.

A form of this called asteatotic dermatitis is commonly seen in older adults. It can be SO itchy, especially at night, that it even disrupts sleep.

Another skin condition is stucco keratosis. It’s multifactorial — yes, past UV exposure plays a role — but skin dryness is a major contributor. And we almost exclusively see it in the elderly.

As the weather gets cooler, the skin barrier needs help!

Apply a thick ointment on your legs every night to lock in moisture and sleep comfortably.

My favorite recommendation? Simple petroleum jelly — sometimes the simplest option is the most effective. ✨

This man came to us concerned about his nasolabial folds. He had them injected with hyaluronic acid at another clinic but was unhappy with the results — they actually looked worse.

We started by dissolving the old filler (the before picture is taken after that step). Then, he underwent two sessions of Poly-L-lactic acid injections, and voilà! We enhanced his masculine features while naturally addressing his main concern. 💪✨

☀️ Sun damage can leave a lasting mark!

This patient has had over 20 skin cancer lesions removed throughout his life due to intense sun exposure when he was younger. He initially thought this new lesion was just an abscess — but since it wasn’t healing, he wisely decided to get it checked.

🩺 The lesion was fully removed with clear, cancer-free margins and no lymph nodes were involved — he’s healing and officially out of the woods! 🙌

⚠️ Remember:
Spontaneous skin lesions that appear without trauma and don’t heal after several weeks or months are red flags that should always prompt a medical evaluation.
