A big weekend for our biggest little at BEEHIVER HONEY!

Our almost 5 year old got a chance to help Dad prep the bees 🐝 for 🍯 honey extraction and do some inspections on queens Dad has been raising.

Dad says she was a natural right from the start!

Once there is enough honey in the extraction tank we open up the valve and start the double layer filtration process.

This simple filtration removes any wax left from the uncapping process leaving us with a beautiful clear honey 🍯

Have you ever wondered how the honey gets out of those perfectly shaped honeycombs?

Wonder no more! After uncapping the honey frames we place them in an extractor that spins the honey right out of the comb!

We were back at it extracting honey this weekend. For me (Cindy the maker of all honey and wax products) this is the most satisfying part of the process!

Not only is it incredible to see the magical things these little creatures 🐝 create, it is exciting all of the possibilities uncapping a frame opens up.

Fresh honey neatly stored in perfectly shaped honeycomb, the beautiful beeswax ready to be made into some many different products!

The possibilities are endless and this is just our beginning!
