This is a great explanation of how we move out of our reasoning brain and why.

Understanding Your Survival Brain

Did you know that our brains are wired to keep us safe? The “survival brain,” part of our ancient limbic system, activates in response to threats, whether they’re real or perceived. This response, also known as the “fight, flight, or freeze” reaction, is a natural and vital mechanism designed to protect us. However, in today’s world, where threats are often more psychological than physical, this response can sometimes feel overwhelming and lead to chronic stress or anxiety.

Recognizing and understanding your survival brain is the first step toward managing these intense feelings. Psychotherapy offers tools and strategies to help you regulate your nervous system, enabling you to respond to stressors more calmly and effectively. Techniques such as mindfulness, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), and grounding exercises can empower you to take control of your mental well-being.

Remember, it’s okay to seek help and support. Talking to a therapist can provide you with the guidance needed to navigate life’s challenges and improve your overall mental health. Your well-being is important, and taking steps to care for your mind is a sign of strength.

You’re not alone on this journey. Reach out, get the support you need, and prioritize your mental health. 💚

“Understanding the signs of unhealed trauma is a pivotal step toward reclaiming our mental and emotional health. It’s not just about acknowledging the obvious scars but also recognizing subtler manifestations like chronic anxiety, mood fluctuations, or even physical symptoms like headaches and digestive issues. These experiences often stem from unresolved past traumas that continue to influence our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors.Avoidance of triggering situations or topics, difficulties in forming and maintaining relationships, and a persistent sense of disconnection from oneself or others are common indicators as well. These signs might not always be obvious, but they can deeply impact our daily lives and overall well-being.However, it’s important to remember that these signs don’t define us. Seeking support, whether through therapy, support groups, or trusted individuals, is a courageous step toward healing. Self-compassion and patience are crucial allies in this journey. Remember, healing is not linear, and it’s okay to take one step at a time. Together, we can break the cycle of trauma and cultivate a brighter, more empowered future. ”

"Everybody has a little bit of
the Sun and Moon in them.

Everybody has a little bit of
man, woman, and animal in them.
Darks and lights in them.

Everyone is part of a connected
cosmic system.

Part earth and sea, wind and fire,
with some salt and dust swimming
in them.

We have a universe within ourselves
that mimics the universe outside.

None of us are just black or white,
or never wrong and always right.
No one.

No one exists without polarities.
Everybody has good and bad forces
working with them, against them,
and within them."
